Probably because they are afraid VK will just get injured again & AG will just melt down again.

I sure hope Golota is in a better & fit for boxing (Championship Bout) state of mind these days. He seems to be much more relaxed, which is critical to success in the ring.

And if Wlad gets Ibragimov out of the picture, who's left to pick? Chagaev? The winner of Peter/Maskeav?

The obvious fight is with Maskaev if he can KO Tank Peter.

I really hope it won't be Briggs.

Someone said Briggs would be gased out before 6th round. The problem is that most probably Golota wouldn't survive that long anyway. McBride was close to knocking Golota down in the first round - and Briggs has fast hands, good power and is actually quite dangerous as long as he has some stamina left.

I would rather see Golota against Ibragimov. It could be a nice, technical fight.

Showtime have never said no to Golota. They didn't want to pay for Golota-McBride, because they already paid 2,000,000.00 for Peter-McCline fight. DKP didn't want to give it for free, but 300k$ more and Showtime said no. They wanted to televise Golota-Peter, everything was approved, but Peter wanted more money, Golota as well and WBC for extra sanctioning too, but DKP couldn't arrange money on time, so they took cheaper McCline.

Vitali is the only HW in the history of HBO when they lost money on HW fight with him (Vitali-Williams). HBO always made money on Golota's fights. They don't care about the result, they care about the money income. Golota will take this fight, but must be paid.

Golota took lighty McBride. He didn't train and spar so much.

Fight with Vitali will be only after Vitali take care of Peter-Maskaev winner & WBC mandatory. Most likely at the ane od 2008.

If Vitali is anything like before his layoff(BIG if, I admit), this would be a complete mismatch.

So who is Golota going to take on in the meantime?

I vote for either Briggs or Meehan, but preferably Briggs. That SOB has some of the worse conditioning I have ever seen. Golota will easily outwork that guy after the third round.

What about Botha too? He wouldn't be a bad opponent to face while he is waiting for something bigger to materialize.

This may warrant my second trip to the garden. I am leaving in an hour to see Mosley Cotto and I may have to go bakc there on the 19th.

Why did you say he was training harder then he ever has in his prime b4 the mcbride fight?

In what way did he take Mcbride lightly?

He trained hard, but he took light McBride in round 1.
