I don't feel he has enough power to knock Golota out, which is the reason I think Golota can win a UD. But this happens only if he can match up skill wise and refuse to be frustrated. Povetkin is a risk taker, fighting Byrd in only his 14th pro fight and winning convincingly, which is why it would not surprise me if his handlers had Golota in mind as Povetkin's future (perhaps even next!) opponent. Time is against Golota and winning over Mollo, takes Golota no where. Fighting and possibly winning over someone like Povetkin, would give all the reasons King needs to give AG at least 2 title shots.

Honestly, I think some people here are protecting Golota too much, playing it safely(i.e,this is the longer route and may not even lead to a belt) yet discounting all the things that could end his career prematurely due his age(i.e. injury, lack of motivation, another car accident, and even losing to the Mollos of boxing) He's either champ material (in which case, give him a viable opponent like Povetkin) or he's not. If so, bring on Mollo.

I'm not one of those who think Golota need any kind of protection, simply Mollo is the easier task of the two if you ask for opinions...I would love to see AG against Povetkin, but the problem is that german promotion is enough strong not to get the fight outside of Germany or Russia, and in that case a win UD for Golota would be very hard to obtain.

Povetkin is fighting Chambers next in an IBF eliminator. I think that currently rules out Golota as a viable opponent.

Yes, Povetkin is going to be busy for the time being...if he loses to Chambers that's another story, of course!

I hope Golota at least is not going to have his inexplicable attitude of the McBride fight in not expecting his opponent to try to bulldoze him. Hell, I think even Zuri Lawrence would try to bum-rush him in the first.

Be ready, Golota! This really is your last chance of last chances...

I'm not trying to get attention by disagreeing but why does everyone like Golata? He blew all of his important fights

    *cough*Tyson,Bowe,Lewis,Brewster,Ruiz*cough*

And he fought Kevin McBride, MCBRIDES A BUM!

I know everyones gonna say that Tyson lost to McBride, but Tyson needed money, and was shot, so that dosn't count. I want a good reason why anyone would like Golata.....

He would never get anyone's respect by simply winging it. The belts would be meaningless. Even though he got screwed twice, Golota must still prove something and EARN his belts like a man. We all want AG to be more than a paper champ.

Wow, his handlers are moving fast. Following Chambers' defeat he's practically 1-2 fights away from a shot. I would love to see more of this from the heavyweights, instead of the typical micro-managing and protecting, until payday. Povetkin is the best thing to happen to HW boxing since Golota's prime jab sent Big Daddy for some R&R (i.e, retirement and ******ation).

The answer is obvious but if you need an example... Golota dominated Bowe in both fights like no other fighter at the time could. Some might argue Bowe was shot... bull****. Golota only got defeated by Golota himself.

Furthermore, Golota already beat Byrd and Ruiz, and he dominated Grant. He even held his own against Tyson.

Andrew is 39 going on 40 and he's still able to contend with any top 10 heavy.

Mollo the born gatekeeper wants a piece of Golota's fame, so he posts pics with his idol.

But seriously, if Golota ever sees this and hears about the smack coming out of Mollo for the past few months, AG will decapitate the bum

IMO Golota actually QUIT against Bowe both times. Low blows was his way out cause he didn't have enough stamina - or at least he felt so, he felt he's gonna get knocked out if the fight would continue (same with Pou'ha).

And now here's my theory (call me crazy if you wish):

What Andrew was really good at was LOOKING good (strong, sharp, dangerous). I have a feeling that this was one of the main things that he was focused on during the fight and this ability was the reason why it looked like he dominated Bowe so much. I'm not saying he was not competitive (actually strong and pretty well skilled), but he looked like a better fighter than he actually was.

What is more I guess that trying to look good took some big part of his overall fighting ability and was eating his stamina. It was making him kinda robotic and less feeling the space, the ring, the fight, the opponent.

He could've been a great fighter if he transgressed the thing that I described. But as he is he's just a strong, solid boxer who probably wouldn't be that famous without cheating.
