Moores were Arabs from North Africa, with a complexion similiar to present day Egyptians. I'm not certain whether Moores conquered Sicily(although its possible because of their proximity). They did however conquor a significant amount of Spain, especially around Cordoba, creating a beautiful mix of cultures there that you can still see to this day. Southern Italy, including Sicily, has a very large population of Italians who's ancestors were gypsies (East Indian origin), which may explain their darker, olive skin.

If his last fight is any indication, Joe's chin will probably hold Pavlik's intermittant barrage and will prevail with his slaps to a decission. There are some admirable qualities that JC possesses (eg., sheer determination to win, going forward and counterpunching no matter what), however, his girly way of throwing those sissy volume punches - like he's batting at mosquitos in the air - would convince anyone that they can punch just like a pro boxer. JC is not a pleasure to watch.

I think the reason many think the Moors were black is because the word 'moor' or in Italian 'moro' means dark. The Moors were darker in complexion than the Italians/Spanish, so they were called Moors, but they were not negroid black, they were just darker arabs. Of course Dennis Hopper tells it a little differently....:!:

The guy is obviously on his payrol because who could possibly be a genuine fan of such a limited fighter, who got KO'D by Touch of ****, a born gate-keeper. Come fight night, AG will be eating his Rollo and beating Mike Mollo.

Fitting avatar. After the bout, that piano of yours will be handy playing Chopin's
    Funeral March, during Mollo's services.

Whats up, Joecool? Golota laying low for the holidays? Jan. 16th is right around the corner. Sure hope he's training his butt off for this Mollo fight.

Golota has underrated power. Knocked Ruiz down twicemade Byrd touch the canvas several times. Hope he survives round 1 and brings the pain.
