Good fight for Andrew, he showed some heart and character with that eye-injury. Mollo wasn't even close winning

I think Randy didnt warn mollo enough for his dirty pushing and throwing his head down. He told him he was gonna take a point but never did

Well actually yeah there was. Mollo did catch andrew a few times early on plus his eye was completely swollen shut half way through the fight. Plus The G man was a bit slow and plodding.

For me it was a nerve wracking 12 rounds. I am very glad Andrew got the win but now I am concerned about his chances in the next fight.

He did show heart and proved he wanted to win so with that....

    CONGRATS ANDREW!!!!!!!!

Golota showed great heart in this fight.

Golota fought very smart, did exactly what we all hoped he would do, and is cover up and weather the storm. He did just that and blocked most of the punches.

He fought half the fight with ONE EYE CLOSED.

Mollo was out on his feet multiple times in the fight. If it wasnt for all his clinching and holding, and rushing Golota head first like a damn football player he would at least have gotten knocked down.

Newman should have taken a point from Mollo. He was the one doing all the holding, clinching, and rushing Golota head first and holding on for his life every time they got seperated.

Mollo is not going anywhere in the HW division. He thoroughly pissed me off throughout this fight with his bull**** tactics.

    Go Golota!!!!!

Max Kellerman is a ****ing moron, I can't stand him.

It really looked like Neuman was instructed be take care of Golota. He was his friend. Did you see the big smile he gave AG at the end. He judged a fair fight tonight.

Great performance by Golota! At 40 years old, with that insanely swollen eye up against a very live young fighter he was proving his heart and toughness. I didn't give him a very good chance to win, but he did it! Go Golota! :happy

Sadly, the Golota win didn't make me forget that horrible Karmazin KO loss. Who the hell could have expected that?

Good win for Golota. I was hoping he'd score a KO after all the trash Mollo talked, but in the end, he overcame adversity and showed the mental toughness he lacked when he still had the physical tools to compete at the top level. He no longer has those tools, however. He looked painfully slow, and unless he can land a title shot against someone like Oleg, I think it's the perfect time for Golota to call it a career.

He beat a local rival, and seeing his hand raised when his eye was completely swollen shut is probably the best (and most dignified way) for him to leave the sport.

It's ashame he never had this type of mental toughness when he was in his physical prime, but in the end, I believe this fight and the Byrd fight helped redeem him, somewhat.

At 40, he's unlikely to perform much better than this. This Golota was nowhere near the level of the 2004 version, which was nowhere near the 1999 version, which was nowhere near the '96 version.

I think he should hang'em up!

    Sadly, I doubt he will.

I sincerely believed he was going to get blown away in one or two rounds. Even though it wasn't on the biggest stage, he finally gabe us Golota fans a moment to be proud of by outhustling a prospective contender who was 14 years his younger.

    Very good post Rums.

I too thought for sure Golota was gonna get steam rolled by Mollo in the first round. The last few days I ACTED like I was confident Golota was gonna beat Mollo for the sake of trying to show support and remain possitive, but in all actuality, I only gave Golota maybe a 10% chance.

I too am extremely proud of Golota. He has come a very long way since being at the bottom after the Tyson humiliation. Even though he was robbed, he beat both Byrd and Ruiz for their champion belts my eyes. But more importantly, Golota has proven to everyone that he has a big heart. Sadly, his skills have badly deteriorated. He is very slow now. But he has finally matured and appears to have figured out how to deal with adversity. He has especially proved this in his last two fights.

Golota's future? I'm thinking maybe you are right about retirement Rums. In fact, just before the Mollo victory I remember thinking Golota should have went out on a high note against McBride instead of going out on another meltdown ie getting wacked out early by some **** talking ***** like Mollo. At this point I am more or less indifferent about him continuing or not. He's 40 years old and should really start considering his health and family before anything else. He beat both Byrd and Ruiz, he's already a champion, and he's won back his respect. If he does land another title shot, it doesn't matter to me anymore if he wins or loses. He's done all he needs to do to make me very proud of him.
