I know Mollos no world beater & did lose to TOS, but maybe Mollo really trained his ass off for this fight. And to see how Mollo landed some bombs shows some skill. I wonder how Mollo would have done against Maskaev or Chagaev? He could have made life difficult for those guys, too. You can't definitely say he wouldn't. You just don't know.

Thats why I think its a good time for Andrzej right now & he has to STRIKE, while the iron is getting HOTTER!

Golota appears to be more determined then ever. I could really see him pulling the upset against Peter. I see him as the favorite against Oleg. I almost wish McCline didn't fight Peter as it would make him look better. Lets not forget....my father implied to Ziggy in regards to Golotas return that he needed more money and Zig said...."No, hes ok financially. He just wants a world title!" AG has his eyes set on a belt and is focused on getting it strapped to his waste!

I'm not laughing at Mikes situation, but Golota is not the fool that many think he is.

 

I thought his speed was pretty good, too.

He was not as he was in his heyday, no, but I didn't think he seemed as slow as some are saying.

But, we all have our own opinion.

 

He is what he is now. We should all be happy he's not 350 lbs wIth no chance at all for a comeback. We're in the middle of the stream & have to get to the other side. No turning back now!

If you watch the Mollo fight you can see his workrate is high, and his speed while has declined, isnt as bad as some think it is, IMO. Could be much worse, especially for a 40 year old. The fight looked ugly, and did not allow Golota to look good because of Mollo's tuck and tackle style that he was using for the majority of the fight. There were moments where AG looked painfully slow, but there were also moments where he seemed somewhat quick.. maybe it has to do with how commited he was to throwing some particular punches?

Even in the 2nd round with Mollo, he tagged a younger, faster fighter (2nd round because Mollo wasnt even tired then yet) with Combo's and he didnt even have a chance to get out of the way... He can't be THAT slow. While his chances against Wlad are not very good, I think his chances against Maskaev and Chagaev are much better, especially against Maskaev.

Either way I guess we will see, and I hope and will pull for AG no matter what. He deserves it. But as Rumsfeld said, I too wouldnt be upset if he decided to hang them up now. He did make up for a lot in this last fight.

For some reason, I dunno why, but for the first time with AG I actually have a good feeling about this last comeback.

I really think the affection his fans show is because of what he did to Bowe 12 yrs ago this July. First impessions mean alot, they say, & the impression has been a lasting one for us fans. I know all about the disappointments, but somehow we just pushed that crap aside, hoping for the day when he finally puts it all together.
