Yeah, his body was not really beaten into the dust over the years, like so many other older heavyweights, cause Golota either lost, or quit, and avoided taking any real beatings....... LOL

    (ahem) Kidding.

I agree, hes in great shape, and seems to have the physicality of a fighter much younger that he is. He's got a couple years left, I would say.

More about the fight from Golota:

"There was not a single Mollo's punch after which I could go to the canvas. I had no crisis. He hits hard but I could take it, actually I always could.
I switched to southpaw a few times and saw how confused he was, I even hit him a few times from that stance.
Basically I noticed (when I still had both of my eyes:lol: ) that most of the time he's mooving left so I was hunting him with my right. I thouhgt I'll take him out in 4 or 5 rds. It shouldn't have lasted 12. I didn't even have any 12rd sparring during my preparations, cause Sam decided that in my age it's better to sparr more often but short. Maybe next time we'll come back to the 12 rounders."

Hmmm..maybe thats what Joecool meant when he said AG didn't do a lot of sparring for this fight. Perhaps he was referring to the length of the sessions???

Thanks again for the quotes. Keep em comin! :good

    Andrew about Randy Neumann:

"Tragedy. I guess I absorebed about 5 headbutts, cause Mollo was diving low towards me only to jump up and hit me. Besides he was hitting after the break and after the bell and he was constantly hanging on me - all in all I guess he did more of all this stuff than I did in my last 3 fights. And what - nothing. I was reporting all this to the ref but he didn't even want to listen. The trouble with my eye started with an elbow - then there was a punch. I got angry only once - when Mollo fouled me 3 times in 1 minute. Next time he tried I intentionally choked him a bit."

He said the eye trouble started with an elbow, but who knows........ I was wondering what caused it.

I think Mollo knew he was not going to KO Golota's good chin, and he knew he couldn't outbox or outmuscle him, so he resorted to the charging in with head low, and constant clinching, and even hanging on while the ref was trying to pull him off.

Mollo certainly proved the level of fighter that he is, in this fight.

I will tell you what. Neuman is a ****ing **** poor sorry excuse for a referee. Mollo should have been mother****ing disqualified. The ref just let Mollo hang and hold the entire fight, Also he let Mollo keep charging into Golota like a goat. As you said, he resorted to this "tactic" because he knew he was completely outgunned by Golota.

Same here!~ Even when it appeared he fought a super-clean fight, well....that's our Andrew!

Reminds me of when he and Grant clashed heads and good ol' George gave a hearty chuckle and declared "Golota did that on purpose!"

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Against Grant there was only one round left. Against Tyson he came back in the 2nd round and was doing well. Only Andrew knows what happened.

Yeah. And also when Golota put Grant in a headlock and hit him behind the back! Foreman said something like "Golota doesn't have to do it that way. Hittin' him behind the back, the poor guy..."
