It was definitely a punch. But Mollo may have snuck an elbow in just before the punch that may have caused the initial damage. Golota has NEVER swelled like that before and he's been been in there with just about everybody.

He says it WAS from a punch, but it STARTED with an elbow. Though I didn't see any elbow either... But in those clinches... I couldn't really see everything that was going on. I guess we coul've missed it.

Actually there were two rounds left. Grant made Golota quit in the 10th round of a 12 round bout. I remember reading Golota told Bloodworth the reason he decided to quit was because he "couldn't focus". Guess he was seeing 3 Grants and knew he couldnt make it out of the round anyhow. If Golota knew how to clinch better when hurt he probably could have made it out of the round and got his senses back.

That would be funny if he was some drunk talking about how he was the one who taught Golota how to fight. :D

Yet another awesome article written by Rums.

It is indeed almost a perfect storybook ending (perfect would have been for one of the 3 major title belts). But like Rums said, it's not about winning of the alphabet belts that's important, but instead showing everyone that he is not a quitter.

I think you should get started on a movie and have Golota play himself. After all, Howard Stern did it. :!:

The vid really makes an impression. I especially like the beginning. Then IMO there should be faster camera angles and action changes - going well with the music. GREAT music. Fits well to the video.

Golota stood right in front of Grant and volunteered to take multiple punches. He could have taken a knee for a quick 8 count and easily made it out of the round. He could have clinched too. But I still think the ref should have never asked him if he wants to fight. The fight should have continued and good chances are Andrew would have made it through the round.
