Well, he is the #8 for WBA and WBC...trying to get a #1 eliminator off of that is probably a little optimistic, even with King on board.

So I reckon they might be trying to line him up as a tempting voluntary defence for someone.

Speaking of Chemek, Is he ok? (The heavyweight boxer, not the poster on the golota express, unless of course they are the same person.)

 

He seems ok. Lately he was in the studio commenting on some fight for the Polish tv. He was a bit pale but in general he keeps himself together it seems.

I recall him saying in one interview that he's planning to practise some sport in which you run then you swim then you ride a bike or sth like that anyway...
As I remember well, he said that he's finished with combat sports but it's hard to live for him without feeding his spirit of competition.

Speaking of the Chemek-poster, it seems like his attitude to Golota is a combination of being sceptical and kind of bitter, but wishing him well in general on the other hand. It's much like Saleta's being jelous for Andrew's achievements but in the end trying to give good advices to his country mate. That's why I asked if they're the same person.

 

Chemek was a great kickboxer.

He beat Vitali Klitschko and was his sparring partner for a lot of his boxing fights.

Golota was already given 3 back to back title shots in a row without walking a way with a win. King can only do so much, Golota has to give him something to work with. Beating Mollo (who was ranked in the top ten by at least one major organization) was a great step in the right direction. I'm guessing it's not the easiest thing in the world for Golota's handlers to match him with a top opponent. To much to lose, to little to gain. This is why Golota has to keep fighting B and C fighters like McBride, Mollo and Austin. Hopefully he'll at the very least get some kind of eliminator fight no later than this year, because the hour glass is getting thin, indeed.
