I don't think Peter would take this voluntary risk and possibly get beaten by Golota (very likely) and lose his big showdown and big payday with Vitali.

I say Peter will wait. Vitali will be the biggest fight of his career, and he will make the most money he's ever made. Golota Peter would sell well, but not as much as the Vitali Peter fight will. Peter knows that. Peter and King will wait til September or October, in my opinion..

Golota vs Peter HW Title fight along with my boy Kelly Pavlik in his 1st title defense on June 7th @ Boardwalk Hall?

You freakin' KNOW I'M THERE, if that were to happen.

But I doubt it. Golota is promoted by King & KP by Arum. Like trying to mix water & oil.

Peter Golota won't be seen as viable of a fight as Vitali Peter will.

Golota has a fanfollowing, yes, but they won't all turn out to see him in 2008 fight Peter. Golota's humiliating loss to Brewster did alot of damage to his marketability, and he's now a couple years older.

Vitali Peter will sell better than Golota Peter would, by quite a bit. Vitali retired as a dominant champion, and I think alot of fans will want to see what he can do four years later, and see if he's still as dominant as he was. And to see what he can do against Peter's power and chin.

How many people are going to pay top dollar to see Peter-VK knowing that VK is likely to pull out at any moment? Golota is coming off two vibrant wins and King knows that Golota-VK will bring in the most money of any matchups. Why would he risk putting Peter in with VK and losing the belt when he could have Golota very likely remove the belt off Peter and have better chances beating VK and bringing home the bacon? King can't lose putting Golota in with Peter. Either way he's looking at VK.

    No doubt.

Golota is more marketable than Vitali and Peter.

    Exactly!

So Golota will beat Peter to win the WBC.

Then he will successfully defend his crown against Vitali.

And then Wlad will try for Revenge of the Brother Part 8, and he will lose whatever titles he has in a unification bout with Golota the Great!

If that would ever happen, Golota would go down as "The Greatest".

OK, let's not get too crazy.

Its that last line that I can't seem to get past.

    But comedy aside........................(ahem)

Don King may well go ahead and put Peter in with Golota, now that its been mentioned. King won't lose the WBC, regardless of who wins Peter Golota, so it would make sense to King.

I guess I wasn't thinking deep enough to realize that King has both Golota and Peter. That may happen. I could see that, cause as we know, its all about what is best for Don King.

But that said, again, are there any credible reports of Golota Peter being talked about, or is this merely wishful thinking?

The last I read (Dan Raphael) was that Vitali Peter was being negotiated.

Anyone know of a source of Golota Peter being a possibility?

ur exactly right about golota, about how his loss to brewster and a couple years older has hurt him a little....theres not that same feeling about golota like there used 2 be in those glory days......unfortunately....especially in poland

You can't blame the Poles in doubting big Andrew. However, if you're a true boxing fan and understand heavyweights then you know about Andrew's power and skill, even though he's 41 and no longer has a deadly jab. Golota is a "seasoned" heavy. He's been there, done that. I, personally, have never doubted the mofo. Golota made mistakes and he's learned from them.

There is no source, and it's not just what's best for King, it's common sense. Right now Vitaly is running for office, not boxing. And even if he returns to boxing what guarantee is there with this guy? And, if negotiations are under way, why would Peter/King wait until the end of the year? Meanwhile, both Peter and Golota are King boys and both are ready to fight NOW.
