Look, I could care less who Golota faces at this point. As long as it's for a title shot he's got to take it. But I will say that this isn't going to be easy. I saw Valuev against Liakhovich and Valuev looked pretty good. He won't put the fear in you like Peter would but he is pretty effective with that extremely long jab of his. This is going to be fun but tough. He could do it though.

    Go Golota!

I think Golota may stand a better chance against Peter than he would against Valeuv. Valuev's long and powerful jab and overwhelming pressure are hard to deal with for anyone.

But you never know. I think any of these scenarios would be good fights.

Have him take the Peter fight!!!

Peter is an overated oaf who will be gassed out by the 3rd against Golota.

Peter will be overweight, like always and take Golota lightly.

McCline embarrassed his ass and Maskaev was wobbling him...MASKAEV!!!!

I was a bit concerned about this match up before but I am now 100% certain Golota takes Peter out!!!

    GO GOLOTA!!!

They'll have to make sure Golota is in the right mindset, and is calm and already warmed up and ready to go, as they stand in the corner and hear Michael Buffer announce him and Peter.

That would be quite a tense moment...

Wow! You're damn right. That would be tense. You just describing that right now I could feel the pressure of fight night. There's nothing like that tension before a fight. And this one will be especially tense because in all likelihood, this is it. What pressure man. I don't know how these guys do it.

    Go Golota!

Golota is too old and too experienced for that ****. He'll be focused on his opponent, no worries.

I hope Golota is able to keep it together, cause I see Peter trying to pull a Brewster on him. But Mollo tried it, as best he could, and Golota kept it together and covered up reasonably well and survived.

But I think Peter's swarm will be alot diferent than Mollo's, obviously. Mollo seemed to pound lefts and rights to the body. But Peter will throw his wide, looping shots at the head, and hard, and he'll keep doing it til he's conviced Golota is not suseptible to it.

Peter should eventually decide to stop expelling so much energy and back off a bit. Then I hope Golota starts settle in a big, and start to land his brutal overhand right, cause I think it is powerful enough to drop Peter, given a clean shot on the button.

But then again, McCline seemed to get Peter's attention the best with the uppercut.

Yeah, after Peters swarms, Golota survives, Peter is gassed & AG puts him on his ass where he deserves to be.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but I don't think that Peter is a good match up for Golota at all. In fact, its a nightmare. This fight will be considered a tune-up defence for Peter and Golota will be seen as a sacraficial lamb. Although we know better than this, we all still realize that power, rock solid chin and dogged determination are like cryptonite to Golota and these are precisely the attributes that Peter has displayed.
In all, i think its the worst route he could have taken (valuev, chagaev etc. would have been vastly better match ups) , but I feel he took it because its the only thing being offered. If that's the case, than this is better than nothing.

Yeah, A Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!! (Cue up Peter's entrance music)

But regardless of his chances, I think it'll be a good and dramatic fight, given each fighter's power and willingness to exchange. I certianly hope it happens.

How do you think Golota goes about a fight with Peter?

Stay on the outside and try to box? This leaves him open and susceptible to Peter's bombs. Or fight on the inside and work the body? This probably assures a distance fight but I think Golota has better stamina than Peter and may have him taking a decision. Tough to do that against a champion though.
