After reading through it, again, I gotta agree.

This fact of Vitali Peter is reported to be set, conflicts with the fact that Peter may not even HAVE his title in Oct, if he fights Golota in July.


So why would they take all this time to come to an agreement for Vitali Peter, and also allow Peter to risk losing the prize he brings to the table when he faces Vitali?

And you'll notice, in that article it says nothing about the Peter opponent would then have the title and would go on to face Vitali.

This certainly needs some clarification as to the contingency of Peter losing. (likely, if Golota is the one fighting him)

 

I think Peter wants a tune-up fight before he faces VK, he doesn't want to wait until October. I don't think Peter's management would want to risk it with a dangerous opponent like Golota though. So Golota might have to get on Peter's nerves to entice it. Not the way I'd like to go, since I'd like Golota to kind of sneak up on him, not motivate him. But unfortunately that may be his only choice to get the shot. atsch

Hopefully Peter just agrees to fight him because of Golota's name and what he perceives to be a low risk fight for him.

 

Nah, it would be better if golota pisses Peter off to no end. Get that ****in dope so mad he won't be able to think straight, he'll wanna kill Golota so bad. When your hot-headed in the ring, you become vunerable & Golota could take advantage to that situation. As long as he comes up for the initial barrage.

One thing. In that recent interview Golota gave when he said:

"There is now 3 white champions and only one black one. And that black one has a problem with me. I don't know why. I wanna fight him" And I will".

Does that mean that he's willing to fight him, or that he thinks a deal is done already?

 

That's what I think. Golota would be much more than a mere tuneup for Peter. It'd be a very risky fight for Peter to take, especially seeing as how it may very well knock him out of his big VK showdown in October. Golota would be a hard fought fight that I can't understand them taking, when the VK showdown is already a go.

But their reasoning may be of great confidence in Peter to take Golota out, and then fight Vitali, thereby making two good paydays as opposed to waiting til Oct and making just one. Somewhat risky, but I think that must be theri reasoning; more $. I can certainly understand that line of thinking, but it will be risky.

 

I agree 100%. Taking Golota as a tune up is extremely risky for Peter. If Joecool himself didn't say it was so, I wouldn't believe it.

 

I don't see what the problem is. Both Golota and Vitaly are dangerous opponents for Peter. Peter is the one with the belt so what's the difference? Peter-Golota is the fight people want to see. As far as Vitaly goes, what guarantee will the Peter camp get for a fight in October. Vitaly could back at any moment.

If Golota can get past Peter, then Golota-Vitaly would be the "ultimate" match.

 

Isnt Vitali still running for Mayor of Kiev?

 

Yeah he is, end of this month we will know if he'll be the new mayor of Kiev. Anyway he confirmed that he will be boxing this year, any which way it goes with politics. We'll see...

 

JoeCool please tell me that they have Golota in the gym already preparing for this guy? They need to make it very very clear to Golota that he is going to get HIT HARD early and probably rocked! Its what he does after that is going to determine if he is going to win the fight. If he can weather that storm and start using his boxing skills on him then he will win. If freezes its gonna be a short night.....get Golota prepared for this reality. He needs to practice using his jab and clinching when he gets hurt.

Peter can be he hit with a jab and straight right hand at will. Golota needs to be in the gym now getting ready, July is not that far off!

 

I still think that if Maskaev clinched a little bit when he was rocked, he had a chance to win that fight. If AG will do that at the right time, I see no chance for Peter.

 

Apparently Golota has already been in training for that last few weeks. As far as fighting Peter, Golota ought to hit hard before getting hit hard. Once Peter tastes the power things will change quickly.

 

Agreed. Also, Golota is a better counterpuncher than Maskaev.
