I know it might be a longshot but I'm still holding out hope for this.

    Go Golota!

You have to remember, its not Peter making the decisions, but Main Events & Duva. That is whats going mess things up as far as what we Golotafans would like to see happen. We can only hope King can pull something, but I doubt it.

If they do fight a bum to be safe & then get ready for the big one with Vitali in the fall, I'll laugh my ass off if VK pulls out with an injury & leaves Peter hanging. Then, we might see a Peter vs Golota fight.

Golota needs a stay active in July & he needs to look terrifying in there to improve his rankings & his confidence.

You know this really pisses me off. Duva and Main Events dumped Golota and bad-mouthed him on the way out. I don't think they thought Andrew had what it took to be a real heavyweight boxer. And yet now they're afraid to put their fighter in with him. What a crock. They were wrong then and they're scared now, period.

This isn't on Peter though. I think he'd do it.

I hope we hear something soon on who Peter will be fighting in the interim. If it's not AG, who should Andrew decide to fight? He's got to get back in the ring fairly soon.

I like the Briggs idea. What about Rahman? Another former champion who's not what he used to be.

I have a feeling that Duva is starting to realize that Andrew is not a tune up for anybody and that this motivated version of Andrew is not going to freeze up.

I think they want a safer fight for Sam because they know this fight could cost them everything.

I've got more than a feeling on that one. :thumbsup

You know avoiding Golota is actually a sign of respect. Whatever happens from here on out, his last two comeback attempts have been successful in my eyes. Who would've predicted this ater the Tyson fight. He's already redeemed himself for that. From here on out it's gravy.

    Go Golota!

Peter, Duva & Golota War of Words

By Scoop Malinowski: WBC Heavyweight champion will make an optional WBC title defense before meeting WBC champ Emeritus Vitali Kltischko in October. It's been said that Don King, who promotes Golota 100% and co-promotes Peter with Duva Boxing, would like to make Peter vs. 40-year-old Andrew Golota who is ranked #8 in the WBC rankings after winning three fights in a row..

Some media reports implied that Peter's lead promoter Dino Duva is not interested in matching his man Peter with Golota. So we decided to talk to the particulars involved...

Scoop to Dino Duva: Can you please clarify if the optional defense against Golota for Samuel Peter is going to happen or not? Golota is saying you don't want it. Is this so? Is this because you admit Golota is a little too dangerous, with the big Vitali fight looming in October?

Dino Duva: "There is no deal right now for any fight, although we are working on several options.
Tell Andrew that it's a joke to think that myself or Samuel "The Nigerian Nightmare" Peter is afraid of him.
If anything , Andrew really needs to think about whether he really wants to get in the ring with Sam. Sam
is a very scary African man to be in the ring with who comes to destroy people in the ring."

Andrew Golota's response to Duva's words: "Dino Duva has more balls than Peter. Scary? What is scary? He has more balls than Peter."

    To be continued...

I knew Golota would give some cockeyed, funny ass response!

    :rofl

Remember when Shannon Briggs (?) was talking all that trash about Golota, and Golota's reply was "Shannon can suck my dick."

Maybe a Golota-Peter match aint in the weeds just yet. Don King may sprinkle a little bit of his evil magic on Peter's voo-doo doll and POOF the fight is SET.

And I LOVE the idea that this seems personal.

I think Golota performed better when it was personal, a la Bowe.

Good for Andrew. I like hearing the cockiness its a sign of confidence.

I just hope Andrew is already training to know this guy out.
