 Nah, it was more along the lines of what H. said. Still it'd be pretty funny if Golota was really talking smack to Peter on myspace. It's probably not really him running the account. Maybe Andrew Jr.?

It's a fan site. I read Interview where Mariola stated that Andrew doesn't search internet that often.

This delay might mean that the Peter camp is still considering Golota as his next opponent, or maybe the WBC is pushing for it. There's no reason why this should be taking so long though. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

In a Russian newspaper "Kommiersant" there is an information that Golota might be the next opponent of Alexander Povetkin.

I actually thought about the possibility of Golota fighting Povetkin when I read that Povetkin had a date to fight "TBA" on July 19th, but I put the thought out of my mind. I don't think that's the way to go.

But if Andrew thinks he can handle this young gun he must be totally confident.

    Go Golota!

Not that Povetkin is anything great, but a win over him would remove alot of doubt that Golota is a serious player for someones HW title.

    :p

Povetkin is a very good young fighter..and thus him vs Golota would be a real good fight. Torn as to who I'd support on that one.

Russian top heavyweight prospect Alexander Povetkin (15-0, 11 KOs), the IBF mandatory challenger for the IBF/WBO/IBO unified world champion Wladimir Klitschko, will fight an ever dangerous TBA at "Olympiyskiy" Sports Palace in Chekhov on July 19. Povetkin (IBF #1 and WBO #4), has already started his preparation under the guidance of Valery Ivanovich Belov, Alexander's chief trainer. Povetkin will train with former world title challengers Jameel "Big Time" McCline and DaVarryl "Touch of Sleep" Williamson, both who have collided previously with Klitschko. "The White Lion," as he is now called, will conduct an open workout for fight fans and mass media tomorrow at 6 p.m. LT in "Goluboy Gorodok" ("Blue Borough"), modern training base located near Chekhov, Moscow region.

If Golota ends up fighting Povetkin in Russia then a close fight could end up in favor of Povetkin, unless the judges aren't Russians

You're right, Povetkin isn't great but he's busy and relentless. I don't think this would be an eliminator to fight Klitschko. If it is than fine.

But I would prefer the Meehan/Peter route. I think it's safer.

Boy, all kind of rumors flying around. Golota will make the choice that he feels will give him the best chance for success. It better be soon. July isn't that far off.

Golota shouldn't fight Povetkin. He is very active and is a bad style for Golota overall. Plus, it is a nontitle fight that wouldn't improve his position much. It would be much better for him to fight Meehan who matches up much better with and win an eliminator.

A fight with Povetkin is set up for Povetkin to look good. He will flurry punches and move and it will be very hard for Golota to win a decision.
