I was thinking the same thing but how can he possibly miss another fight?

Let's hope King can get this possible eliminator thing rolling, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I got the info from a reliable source. Whether or not it actually happens remains to be seen, but talks of such a tournament are certainly underway.

I can see the Big G Man winning this thing. He can handle Meehan pretty easily, and I hope he gets Meehan first, to pump his confidence.
Odd that TOS is in there, with Meehan, seeing as how they fought not long ago, and TOS was destroyed by Meehan.

Liak would be Golota's toughest fight, assuming Liak can get back some of his old form, and do better than he did against Valuev.

Agreed. I believe Lyakhovich represents the toughest challenge for Golota of the aforementioned names.

    LoL no way man.

Lyakhovich is done. He came way out of shape in the Valuev fight with his man tities. I did a RBR for that fight here on ESB, I didn't give him one round at all.

If anything, Meehan will pose the toughest challenge.

I admit, I have not seen Lyakhovich fight since his debacle with Briggs.

But in terms of semi-recent performance, his win over Brewster is better than anything TOS or Meehan has ever done.

So what tho, Lyakovich would lose to both TOS and Meehan at this point. His inactivity, and his career high weight aint helping him much. The guy has man tits for ****s sakes

I think Lyakhovich is very overrated with his toe-to-toe win over Brewster. That was his career best win and the second one is decision over Dominick Guinn in 2004. If you remember Lyakhovich was clearly underdog against Brewster and put a lifetime performance in that fight. I think he will never get back to that level again.

As good as Liakhovich looked against Brewster that's how bad he looked against Valuev. I can't figure the guy out. :huh

    Didn't see the Briggs fight.

The guy had the Briggs fight in the bag. Briggs was huffin and puffin in the mid rounds for peats sake. I mean, when Briggs won, he didn't even celebrate... he went to his corner to catch his breath for like 10 mins and then he descided to celebrate and give a interview. All Sergei had to do is just avoid him in the last round. What does he do? He gets KTFO of the ring.

Then he takes a WHOLE year off from the Briggs fight, lands a fight with Valuev, comes in horrible shape at a career high weight with man titties, and gets outjabbed by Valuev for 12 straight rounds. Valuev at one point could of KO'd him, but Valuev just jabbed the hell out of him and Sergei didn't do nothing credible to even win one round. Sergei is bad againt bigger opponents like Briggs and Valuev, but if he faces a guy his size hes quite decent. But hes shot now, and I think if Brewster were to rematch him, Brewster would probably win, being he's actually less shot imo.

Sergei is the perfect opponent for Golota. Golota would jab the **** out of him and possibly KO him around the 9th round or so. Lets hope Golota fights Sergei than destroys the winner of TOS and Meehan.

Thanks for the Briggs update. :good

I tend to agree with your assessment of a Golota/Liakhovich matchup if it were it to occur now. My only worry is that Golota couldn't do to Brewster what Liakhovich did to him. That could possibly give Sergie confidence going in.

Interesting fight. Today's Golota would ultimately prevail though.

    No probs.

Sergei has no chance at all in my opinion. He can attempt a Brewster on Golota in the first round, but that wouldn't be wise being he isnt that strong and he would probably gass out in the second whihc would lead Sergei open for Golota to KO him.

There is not to many who will NOT try to do Brewster on Golota ... but just one or two of them may have chance to succeed ... if they fail they will look the same crap as Mollo was after a few rounds.
