He's all wrong for Golota. Brewster only does one thing well, and that thing is like cryptonite for Andrew. McBride and Mollo were not a good enough test of this as neither has as heavy hands as Brewster does. Also, a win here for Golota means very little, since it will only confirm what people suspected after the Wlad fight - that Brewster is done as a top fighter. In my view, a less riskier fight with much more upside, would be a tilt between Golota and Povetkin.

    It certianly would.

I'd like to see Golota take Brewster on, once again, but I doubt he will. At least, not right now.

I also doubt Brewster would even want to fight Golota, now, either. LOL I bet Brewster wants an easy tomato can fight to help rebuild a bit of confidence, in his first fight back after two losses in a row.

But as inactive as he's been, Golota against ANYone would be good to see, though.

Golota would be stopped even faster than the pathetic Taurus Sykes was.

If he has enough money to retire comfortably, he shouldn't be fighting at all.

It is a pic of Golota and Holyfield posing together. Looks like they might be at some kind of special event-they appear to have ID tags of some sort. Golota looks like he could pick up Holyfield and rock him like a baby. :yep

I do not think this fight is definite yet. Expect to hear more from JC on this and hopefully before ski season begins. :!:

You're delusional in comparing Sykes to Golota. Golota has a nearly 20 year pro record demonstrating that he thrives on fighters like Povetkin who have no hopes in hell of knocking him out. Aside from the extremely questionable Ruiz decission, Golota has NEVER lost to any fighter on the cards. Povetkin's best win is against a washed-up, post-Golota, post-Klit Byrd. Without a doubt, Golota would be Povetkin's stiffest challange to date. In my view, although Povetkin is a much better fighter than today's Brewster, he is a less riskier opponent for Golota. I say Golota by TKO or a narrow win on the cards, because styles make fights.

P.S. I bet any money that Povetkin's people and supporters would rather avoid Golota before the Klit match-up (i.e., too risky and not much to gain from the win, aside from two small belts).

Golota only gets steamrolled early when he's super nervous. A 40 year old nothing to lose version of Golota will have this problem under control.

Golota is quite comfortable financially. This last hurrah is not about money. He simply wants one last chance to make some noise before retiring permanently.

What you're saying is Sykes is "pathetic" but he's still a level above Golota. LOL. I don't know if you're delusional or just busting balls. So then maybe Sykes should fight Evander instead?

I totally agree and I'm not trying to be partial. I tried to be nice in my reply but there's definitely a "delusional" factor here. You don't have to like Golota but comparing a world class heavyweight to Taurus Sykes? Yikes!!

Povetkin's people offered Golota the fight and he turned it down because it wasn't enough money and he needed more time to prepare for it. Why the hell would they be afraid of an old, slow fighter with a shaky chin, bad defense, fading reflexes, and no stylistic advantage?

Eddie Chambers would stop Golota right now. You're living in another world if you think 40 year old Golota could be competitive with Povetkin.

Nope, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying Golota will get stopped faster, that's all. Povetkin would hurt him early, then go in for the kill and swarm him to a stoppage victory. If anything, that comment was a compliment to Golota, because he wouldn't be pathetic enough to fight the way Sykes did. You're making it seem like I'm saying Sykes is better than Golota right now or would beat him.. I don't think that and I didn't say that. I just like to go in this thread once in a while when people are talking about Povetkin-Golota and bring them back to reality.

I've been a fan of crazy ass Golota since I was a kid, there's no reason for me to hate on him. I'm just being realistic about what he is today.

He's 40 but he's a tank. He can still bang hard and throw lots of punches in bunches, at will. His chin is as good as it gets, but his defense ain't what it was. His speed is slowed a bit but his reflexes are fine. I got nothing against Povetkin other than he's still a young heavy and just starting to prove himself. Look at Ibragimov, all the hype then he craps out. A seasoned and focused Golota can make hell for Povetkin and his camp. It's Povetkin asking for a lot of money to fight Golota, just like Peter.

His chin isn't "as good as it gets". His reflexes aren't fine. Povetkin would absolutely destroy him.

Oh well, no point of arguing. Keep living in your dream world.

It's your dream and prophecy that Povetkin can put Golota away faster than Sykes, so maybe it will come true.
