I agree, Austin is a pretty tough fighter and his getting beaten by Wlad don't make him any less a threat, it merely diminishes the clout Golota may get from beating him, a bit.

I see Austin as a somewhat high risk/fairly low reward fight for Golota. Austin is a real big guy who is not all that bad, really, and may give Golota trouble, as he did Ibragimov.

Fairly high risk/ pretty low reward, I would say. He has fell outta sight since Wlad beat him, and I am not sure if he's still ranked in anyone's top 20. But not sure.

Austin isn't a bum of course...but he is a can and if you want title shots, you gotta blow out the cans (like Golota did against Mollo). I would've MUCH preferred Jameel McCline but I don't make the fights.

Here's hoping Golota looks impressive and gets himself back into the title picture soon.

Golota need to fight cans on the level of McBride, Mollo or Austin but he need
also to fight them more often than 10 month period ... say one fight with
above can per 4 months and he will have mandatory position in each division.

That's pretty questionable. No one should rate him any higher than those two. The Rainman's claim to fame is a draw against Ibragimov and Donald and a win against Beck. Not exactly overwhelming stuff, is it? I would give him a 50/50 chance against both Mollo and McBride.

In any event, assuming AG's next fight will be a title fight (big assumption, I know), this fight with Austin is a safe (safer than Briggs) move in that direction. But let's get one thing straight: King is once again looking hard for a reason to give Golota another title shot, for very obvious reasons. I get the feeling that it's almost irrelevant who Andrew beats - as long as he piles up some decent wins, almost regardless of who it is against- King will have enough momentum to stage another title shot for him. For King, its just business as usual. For Andrew, its another shot at redemption.

Ray Austin? Sounds good!! Hell you could have said Golota-Jack Basting 'the anticipated rematch' and I would have been satisfied, just as long as Golota has himself a guaranteed opponent to smash in China!

    GO GOLOTA!

After he takes Austin out, (assuming he does), maybe Golota will get on a roll and start stomping Tokyo in Godzilla fashion.

Oh wait, Tokyo is in Japan, not China...............:huh But whereever he is, Golota needs to smash the place up abit, to make statement that he's all business, this time.
