Sure is. If he had his head on straight, I think he had the potential to become an all-time great.

But sadly, the reality is that he was an A-level talent who never became more than a B-level fighter.

that is a terrible fact, that golotas speed has left him, but his still a threat to any top 10 fighters in the division, he still has a good pop in both hands, with mollo he wasnt able to utilize his speed cause of the awkward style of mollo, vs mcbride there where some signs of the old andrew but just signs, i still wish him the best and will be tunning for every fight he has left in him, always have and always will be a golota fan, for the good, the bad and the ugly, Dawaj Andrzej Lej tego Goscia i walcz o Pas!!!!!!

This is correct. He was really, really slow against him and also McBride.

I wouldn't bet on it. McBride was really slow and still he connected with some good punches early in the fight.

Actually, against McBride I thought he looked a bit faster. At times that fight reminded me of Golota-Sanders. But, probably only because McBride's big and slow himself. Against Mollo, it was painfully obvious how slow he's gottin' with age.

But Golota still has some things going for him.

    1. Even at 40, he still throws an abundance of punches. Many of his punches don't seem to have great snap, he does not seem to load up on the kind of right hands that put Bowe on the floor. But they still do damage. I heard reports of Mollo pissing blood after the 12 round beating he took from Golota.

    2. Golota is still a good inside combination puncher and he goes to the body very nicely. He was hurting Mollo with body punches, but due to they eye, did not finish him off.

    3. Golota still has a solid chin. He never had a Tua granite chin, but definitely solid. Hard punching Mollo hit Golota with many flush shots and Golota took them well, even at 40.

    4. Golota has something he never seemed to pocess in his prime years. Heart!:bbb

Is this enough to win a belt? Maybe, maybe not. The odds are against him. But if Maskaev can do it, perhaps Golota can do it as well. Of course, Maskaev did not have to go up against guys like Wlad or Peter to make his Cinderella Man story come true.

i doubt he would beat the vitali or waldamir, but he def can beat the other champs with determination and heart, too late he found his heart and will to fight so late in his career,

Golota himself said after the Mollo fight "I can do better." He will against austin and all this talk about how slow he is will vanish.

    GO GOLOTA!!

I heard about the Austin fight, but still get the feeling that Golota is the frontrunner to fight Valuev next.

Sadly Brisback, I think it would take a time machine to ever see Golota with even a glimpse of the speed he once had. At 40 years old, it is what it is. And hopefully it will be enough to win a belt. But like I said, his new found heart and courage just might make up the difference and then some!

If you re-watch the Mollo fight his speed was ok, not like it was a few years back but it was ok. Then when his eye began swelling he slowed because of concern.

I have no more concerns or worries about his abilities or who he is gonna face next. I am a pathetic gambler at the nickel slots that keeps wasting his money on that big $3000 jackpot that just keeps getting bigger and bigger because if I stop playing now, I will never win the jackpot.

    So with that said...........

    GO GOLOTA!!!!

Austin was simply stunned by Wlad's jab. If AG can impose his still good jab for Austin it's just a matter of time to be TKOed.

Austin is kind of a no win sitution, in a way, cause after Wlad pasted him, Golota will have to get rid of Austin, and get rid of him pretty fast, in order to be seen as possibly still able to compete with the top level fighters.

But, Golota has finally got an opponent, and a fairly well known one, so.....

    Go GOLOTA!
