I think you should understand that Golota doesn't need any minor title whatsoever. The time is right now, for him, to finally accomplish his job and get a major belt!

welll mollo CAN get a wbc title, and golota not (sorry for my bad english)but golota is fighting much longer and i think golota deserve a change to fight a title holder.

Hey man where have you been ....AG allready had some 5 chances now?
Second reason is that there is no "deserve" in boxing, there are money...And that is wy Andy still can make it, in other way he woudl have to fight another 10 years to get him self in the line.

Nice, thanks. Golota was an animal in his youth! So quick and accurate for such a big man. You can clearly see why he went on to become one of the top names in boxing.

Good looking fight, although its easier to seem super human against Elvis look alikes, than against more solid opposition. One thing that Golota was never able to carry over from those early fights, was the ability to knock out guys who were in trouble against him. Ever since the Bowe fights, this lack of killer instinct or possibly a one punch power defecit, have haunted him (in Bowe, Grant, Ruiz, Byrd fights) and have cost him dearly.

Golota did have trouble finishing fighters whom he hurt early.

He dropped Bowe in the 2nd and the 5th of their rematch, he dropped Grant twice in the first, and he dropped Ruiz twice in the second.

All fights which he should have finished, except for maybe the Bowe fight (Bowe had an incredible will). But that fight should have been stopped regardless.

You do realize it's been nearly twelve years of fighting since Golota had a problem with repeated blows below the belt?

I was like 14 years old (and with my father) so unfortunately I wasn't drunk! I was shocked though and extremely upset. The only good thing I remember coming out of the whole experience was seeing FOTY on the undercard, Arturo Gatti taking on Gabe Rueles! Now THAT was a fight.

Yeah, that was a great fight between Gatti and Rueles. A Gatti classic.

Golota barely showed up just before the Gatti fight. Had been missing for quite some time and I had a feeling something was wrong. Lampley, Merchant and Roy Jones had gottin word Golota was nowhere to be found. Jim said something like "Oh...that Golota....." and then Jones said "He just can't do everything right.":-(
