I think your right. Golota should tune up against Austin & then do something unprecidented...fight again 6 weeks later for the title & chop that freak down!

    :bbb

Time to go to work, Damn it!!!:fire

Of course he needs the fight after 9 months at this age. What's more, now that Valuev is in perspective he not only needs a win against Austin, he needs to utterly dominate and crush him.

You guys are saying Golota did good against big guys like McBride. Say what? Golota was in some trouble in the 1st round of that fight and was getting hit at will. Well, Valuev is twice as big, has better stamina, punch output, skills, power. Better everything. Plus he can't be knocked out. He's no slouch, he made enormous progress and would be a tough fight for anyone. He'd crush Mollo like bug, that's for sure.

If Andrew beats the **** out of Austin and stops him, go ahead. If he doesn't or if they cancel the Austin fight, Golota could get seriously hurt.

I think Golota could get hurt just by Vitali, the other champs today are beatable, Wlad would only be jabbing all fight long, just to keep Andrzej out of reach, while the giant, though improved a lot, I agree, isn't impossible to beat as Chagaev (who's no Muhammad Ali!) has shown in recent past. So decent hopes to see AG finally with the belt, with the due respect for Wlad and Valuev, anyway

Awww Joecool, you holdin' out on us?? :nono :thumbsup

    Thanks for the updates!

Personally, I think Golota needs this fight against Austin as a warm-up. Besides, if he can't beat Austin, he has no business in there with the giant neanderthal.

Don't be too surprised to see Golota put the beast on his ass early in the fight.

Golota has a tendency of surprising everyone with an early knockdown in big fights.

Golota is ranked number 4 in latest WBA rankings.

He is also top ten in other two major belt orgs.

Not bad for an old timer.

I think this is the first time that I agree with you. :good No only beat Austin, but he has to beat him convincingly. By a knockout no less.

I don't really agree the champs today are easily beatable for a 40yr old Golota. Recent beatable beltholders: Peter, Ibragimov, Maskaev, perhaps Chagaev. Also Ruiz and Byrd, who Golota beat. Actually it would be very hard to get a belt right now.

Chagaev fought Valuev to win the belt, so if Chagaev is "perhaps" beatable why isn't Valuev?

    Because styles make fights, obviously.

Valuev is different than any other fighter. To beat him you need some reflexes. Chagaev pulled it off because of that and his smart plan. Andrew doesn't have the reflexes to avoid getting hit and he can't just trade with him the way he did with McBride.

Chagaev would be a very tough fight for Golota but the size disproportion would not be a factor hence I believe Andrew would have a better chance against him.

Fighting Valuev is just terribly tough, not just phisically but also mentally. Golota has never faced someone this big (nobody has). It's going to be extremely difficult. I'd love to see Golota beat the giant but it would be a goddamn miracle.

Tough work ahead, no doubt. He can do it though.

I don't know if you watched Valuev vs liakovich fight but Valuev seemed to improve his skills a bit.
