How can you misspell such a simple (not to mention famous) name?

Well, he did make one good point...

What the hell will we do when Golota finally hangs 'em up?:think

Don't want to think even about it. TBH, I thought the day would have come along time ago.

    ((((((((((((((((GO GOLOTA)))))))))))))))))

I truly thought we had seen the very LAST of Golota after watching him being pummeled with debris in Detroit back in 2000. Never expected this to go on another 8 years.

Golota is the only fighter I have devoted so much time and support to. I'm a fan of other boxers (DLH, Pavlik, Klitschkos, Cotto etc) but not nearly to that extent. Many of my other favs have gottin' old or retired (Ike Quartey, Tyson, Gatti, E.Augustus, Lewis, Trinidad).

Golota is the only fighter that can get me so damn nervous before a fight, I nearly lose my lunch. It's almost torture just to watch a Golota fight. I will miss that kind of adrenaline rush when he is all done.

And that is why we all meet here. To deal with our Golota-holic anxiety.

Quick favour to ask from the Golota fans...I don't have the complete punchstats for the Golota-Grant fight in '99. I know how many punches they landed in total (170/338 Golota, 115/351 Grant) but not the breakdown of jabs and power punches.

If anyone here knows them, or has a copy of the fight with all those stats included that they could check, I would very much appreciate it. Considering how high-profile that fight is the full stats are very scare.

Oh...and if anyone has the full Golota-Byrd stats that would be awesome too. I only know their 244-241 connect totals.

    Hope someone can help!

I will bust out my copy of Golota-Grant sometime tonite and get back to you with those stats. As for Golota-Byrd, I don't think the telecast revealed those numbers, but I might be wrong.

    Kind of you, thanks!

Golota-Byrd, apart from the 244 (Golota) - 241 (Byrd) punches landed count, I also know Golota chucked 64 punches per round to Byrd's 47...but I don't know the exact number of total punches thrown. I'm just a real stat nerd, y'know? ;)
