Austin will at least try to jump on Golota, because that is the blueprint his opponents have been following after the Lewis and then after the Brewster fights. Its the best (actually, the only) chance someone like Austin has in winning against AG, and Austin's camp knows it. Austin is actually quite similar to McBride in physical assets, speed and skill level and Golota did not do such a good job defensively against McBride, in the early rounds. In the Mollo fight, there was a big improvement in this regard. He covered up very well and whatever power shots Mollo managed to land, Golota looked comfortable absorbing them. We will know more about Mollo and his power after he fights McCline on thesame card.

I actually think Austin will go out trying to box and fail miserably. If Domonic Jenkins was making him miss and making him look bad and slow imagine what Golota will do to him.Only thing is that Golota gotto take him serious, that's it.Austin ain't got the skills to box,he just thinks he does.If he tries to jump on Golota, even worse,he will get nailed and get stopped early

Men, I was astonished and impressed about what Bernard Hopkins did last night, I didn't expect so much, you know he's 43! I'm so sorry for Kelly Pavlik, but he's shown he's not the same class BH is.:patsch
Anyway, if you look the whole thing in a positive way, what can Golota still do in boxing? An awful lot IMHO, he's always in the gym, phisically in great condition and mentally even better! And you can add he's JUST Fourty!
    Go Andrzej!!!!!!!:happy

    From ESPN:

While King is working on the China card, he is also attempting to put together a defense for heavyweight titlist Nikolai Valuev, whom he co-promotes with Sauerland Event. The German-based company has made an offer to former four-time champ Evander Holyfield to face Valuev in Germany on Dec. 20. However, King is proposing a fight for Valuev against Andrew Golota on the same date. King would like to put the bout at New York's Madison Square Garden and distribute it via pay-per-view, according to two sources with knowledge of the proposal. However, the Garden is booked on Dec. 20. Golota would have to defeat Ray Austin on the China card to make the fight possible. Valuev-Golota appears to be a long shot, however, because Valuev stands to make more money against Holyfield (or another opponent) by staying in Germany.

... can Valuev fight both Holyfield and Golota the same night at two different venues?

what does golota say:?Nie lubię mówić o walce z Mollo. Powinienem go znokautować w najwyżej piątej rundzie. Austin jest moją przepustką do Wałujewa, do walki o tytuł WBA. Taką mam obietnicę od Kinga. Jeśli przegram w Chinach, już nigdy nie wyjdę na ring. Kończę karierę, na zawsze

    You are???

Me too!. Lets just hope we get to see this on TV.

Heres something I've been waiting a week for. Scoop finally got back to me. Said he talked to AG last night. The only thing he said about the Austin fight was that he's gonna fight with his "heart & his fists".

Heres his most recent article with Sam about how training is going:

    Something close to:
"Dont like to talk about Mollos fight. I should knock him out up till fifth round. Austin is my "pass" for Valuev and the WBA title. Thats what DK promised. If I lose in china, Im done. Will never fight again."

And heres some fresh news from Boxinginsider.com, Scoop Malinowski interview with Sam Colona:

Talkin’ Boxing with Golota-Trainer Sam Colonna

On a three-fight win streak, Heavyweight contender Andrew Golota is training hard in Chicago for a crucially important Nov. 7 clash with Ray Austin. If Golota wins without injury, it has been reported he will likely qualify for a late Dec./ early Jan. WBA world title opportunity against Nikolai Valuev. Boxinginsider.com spoke with Golota’s long-time trainer Sam Colonna a week before Team Golota’s departure to Chengdu, China.

Boxinginsider: Sam, can you tell us what is the state of the still going strong Golota Express?

Sam Colonna: We’re getting hard workouts, Andrew is training very hard. I wish we were ten years younger, you know [laughs]?

    Boxinginsider: Who is he sparring?

Sam Colonna: He’s sparring with Marcellus Brown, this guy D-Ron Johnson and Jason Robinson.

    Boxinginsider: How is he looking?

Sam Colonna: I mean, he has his days, you know, when he looks good, he has his days, you know, when he isn’t looking as good as I want him to. But in all, he’s in good shape, he’s working hard, he really wants this fight here. The style I don’t like of this guy they’re giving us but hey, we’re gonna have to deal with it.

Boxinginsider: Ray Austin - what are the problems he presents?

Sam Colonna: Well, he’s been in with some very good fighters. He’s 6-6, 6-5, 240 pounds. Klitschko stopped him in two rounds but if he would have got past that first couple rounds I think he would have given Klitschko a helluva fight. He’s a good fighter, I watched his tape. This guy’s no joke.

Boxinginsider: Andrew gave an awesome effort and performance against Mike Mollo. Since we haven’t done an official interview since then, you must’ve been impressed by that?

Sam Colonna: Yeah I was but Mike Mollo is no Ray Austin. Mollo is 6-1, 220, this guy is 6-6, 6-5, 240. It’s a big difference. And Ray Austin has fought much better guys than Mollo has. It could be a 50-50 fight for us, whoever gets their shot in first.

Boxinginsider: And if Andrew can win this fight, Valuev and a WBA title shot are next? Is that true?

Sam Colonna: That’s what’s on the table, yep. Yep.

Boxinginsider: How is Andrew responding with these two sudden golden opportunities?

Sam Colonna: Well, this is what he’s been fighting for. This is what he’s been looking for - another title shot. I mean, this isn’t an opportunity we could say, Well, we’ll think about it.

Boxinginsider: What is Andrew’s weight at now?

Sam Colonna: Right now he’s at 248.

Boxinginsider: What will he go down to?

Sam Colonna: He wants to be bigger in this fight. He wants to be bigger because he’s fighting a big man. He doesn’t want to be pushed around. So we’re gonna try and keep that weight on as high as we could. We’ve been training and everything, he’s just keeping his weight up. He’s been training already about three months for this fight.
Boxinginsider: Wow, he really wants this. He showed it clearly in the Mollo fight. It’s pretty obvious he almost desperately wants this something fierce. We saw it against Mollo, how are you seeing it in the gym in Chicago?

Sam Colonna: Well, we’ve been training at 8:30 in the morning.

    Boxinginsider: Why so early?

Sam Colonna: That’s the time that fits our schedule between both of us. I just opened up a gym, I’ve been training up on the North Side because that’s where he lives. (Note: Sam’s new gym is called Chicago Boxing and is located at 3508 South Halsted.)
Notes: Golota, age 40, is ranked in the top 10 by three major sanctioning bodies, Austin is presently unranked. This will be Golota’s second pro fight in China, he defeated Marcus Rhode in 2000 by KO 3 in what was the first ever professional boxing event ever held in China (Guangzhou). He also won his bronze medal in Asia, at the 1988 Olympics Games in Seoul, Korea.
    Golota’s record is 41-6-3 (33 KO’s) while 37-year-old Austin is 25-4-4 (16).

And from Team Pavlik, too. I saw an article before the fight saying "can Hopkins derail the Pavlik Express?"

    See what you started>>>>>>>
