    Agreed.

After watching the McBride fights, as well as the Mollo fights, I still thought he can maybe do something. But after the long layoff, and constant delays, this and that.. I started thinking more and more that he should hang them up. It really saddened me to read the news on Golota this morning. He was a hell of a talented and great fighter who fought some of the worlds best heavies, and should have won a belt, at least one time in his career, he deserved it to be official, outside of the Byrd, Ruiz robberies.

He is a great guy, and I am still a huge fan and always will be. I hope he does not try to bounce back, and I doubt he will. He is just too old for the game, and has aged too fast. Speed and reflexes are one thing that are a must in this sport, and he no longer has them. Time to enjoy the slopes, and time with his family. Thanks Andrzej for all the great memories, whether bad or good, it was a hell of a ride. :good

    Soriano = douche bag

I agree. If it is in fact an injury, he will fight again.

    Excellent post turbina.

Golota has come a long way form the ghetto streets of Warsaw. He lives in a nice house with his family and is financially secure. He gave us wonderful memories and will go down in history as the craziest, greatest Polish fighter to ever live!

I really do not want him to fight again Lou. He needs to enjoy retirement now. That left arm of his has been giving him problems since his car crash in '99. By all accounts, Golota should have retired back them, as he never was able to establish his once great left jab ever again. It's amazing he came as far as he did without his great jab, was able to win two titles (in my eyes). But now it's over.

**** Golota.... Now this thread looks his wake.

Goodbye, Golota. May you retire peacefully away from the eggings of your delusional fans. You fought a good in your early years but you should know when your body tells you to stop. You should have retired a long time ago.

Anyway, my best wishes to you.

    :cheers

Great post, Hoax! Sad...I thought he'd get one more crack at the title.

It's definitely over now. I guess we kinda knew it ever since the Brewster debacle, but this finishes it.

12 years of being a Golotaholic was certainly fun & exciting and provided many interesting memories.

While our days as Golotaholics may officially be over, not that his career is seemingly done, look at the bright side!

We have our entire lives ahead of us to be alcoholics!

Is there any official statement from Golota camp about the injury?

To tell the truth, you may see the whole thing in more optimistic way.
Golota was fighting with one hand and even that the furies thrown by
Austin wasn't giving much damage. At the end of the round Golota
wasn't even tired and Austin was backed off anytime Andrew tried
to land right hand. Golota wasn't very slow except when he checked
out his arm constantly and didn't pay attention to what Austin is doing.

If this is temporary injury i wouldn't be surprised we will see Golota-
Valuev as scheduled ... right now one handed Golota seems to perfect
    choice for Giants camp.
