Express should continue to give tribute to Golota, one of the more exciting and durable fighters of this generation. He's a good man from I hear. Coming from the ghetto, he has made a name for himself in boxing history. It's just too bad he did not accomplish what others have accomplished. I would like to post this song as a tribute to the people's idol.

Hoax is right, he left it all in the ring against Mollo at the Garden. Tht was the farewell. It was truly incredible how he finished that fight with one damn eye and one arm basically. Golota is just a shell of what he was, even against Ruiz and Byrd he was a shell of himself, but he won those fights, even Byrd's wife said it on camera. We should be proud of how he valiantly tried to close out his career with a world title. He tried, God how he tried. He never became a world champ. But he is and always will be a People's Champ.

This is not a farewell guys. I refuse he will hang it up. Lets face it - He got injured. He will carry on and I am going to support him 100% until he himself says "Im retired".

We have been through this before. It is no surprise how this ended up. this is just another one of those shitty and unfortunate setbacks that have plauged The G man in the later stage of his carrer.

I say rematch Austin and then make a determination about his carrer.

    GO GOLOTA!!!

Sorry but I think majority of his fans here want him to go and retire peacefully. Be kind to your idol. He's just too painfully slow and age has already caught up w/ him.

Besides, who wants to offer him another fight? Let's just allow him to fade away.

Sad indeed, because team Valuev was about 100% sure they'd give Golota a crack at his title should he have gottin' by Austin. What's even more sad is that I think Golota had a hell of a good chance at beating Valuev and finally capturing the title belt. :-( Oh well, just one last woulda' coulda' shoulda' in the wacky career of Andrew Golota.

Hey Rums, I would like to thank you for reviving the old Golota forum (Ultimate Golota Homepage Forum) and creating The Golota Express, providing refugee to all of us Golotaholics for so many years. Every single day I looked forward to coming here and reading up on news of Golota and talking with you guys. That is probably the biggest thing I will miss about being a Golota fan.

I agree with all that you said. There will never be anyone like him. I got into boxing because of him and it hurts me to see my idol go out like this. I really wish he had ended it after Mollo fight. Like you all said it was a perfect way to end his journey and now what's left is that little bitterness. I feel bad for him. He knows he's past his prime.
Anyway thx Champ. You gave us great memories. :good

I am being kind to my idol. I am 100% agreeance withwhatever decision he makes. Has he officially retired? as of now..No!!

His dream is to grab a belt and it is still not out of the realms of possibilty that his dream can come true.

Andrew, Heal up..request a rematch with austin and one more thing....

    GO GOLOTA!!!!

I thought I saw Austin punch him with a right hand on his shoulder & then he starts looking at it. After the mid way point in the round, he can't even lift his arm.

He got hit right on a nerve in his shoulder I bet. Happened to me one time playing football & basically, my whole arm went dead for awhile.

THIS GUY HAS THE WORST ****IN LUCK IN THE WORLD.

I agree with Brisback ... until Golota officially retire we as supporters
and fans should not retire him either. Austin should be interested
in the rematch and then everything may be opened again. The official
statement about how serious is injury and whether Golota will be able
to fight again and wants to do this is required.

He didn't look bad in this fight except he was not able to use one hand
he did OK in his usually worst round. Austin wasn't able to knock him
out or even hurt and wll not be able to beat healthy Andrew next time.
