You could tell the same to Vitaly 4 years ago, now he is champion again.
Golotas hand problem here was the same as in with Byrd fight so
its nothing new it just need to be fixed as Vitaly's injuries.

The other problem is his constant beatings in the first round
which are also exploited to the infinity by every new opponent.
The good thing is that if not the injury Austin wouldn't be
able to land a half of the shots he landed and people wouldn't
be talking about how slow and defenses Golota looked like.
The truth is that Golota defense was pretty decent for most of
the time and Austin wasn't able to hurt him at all.

    As Jetski said **** happens.
Leave decision about retirement to Golota,
he just entered mental prime. Just lets heal the body.

I think this may be the first time the Golota fans (most of us) are urging Golota to hang them up for good. Usually after a loss like this, I want him to retire but in the back of my mind there still might be an itzy bitzy tiny miscrospic chance for him to make a comeback and win the title. But now at at age 41, I am sad to say that is is 100% OVER.

    :?

Usually breaks the weakest piece and most of the time it can be fixed.
At age 41 there is plenty parts which need exchange ... but if they will
be able to permanently fix his arm then maybe the whole warranty will be
extended for a next year or two.

True, but Golota has to walk into the ring with a demanding hop and not stand there like he's not quite ready. Man, if I trained him...

He won't recover from surgery until March, then another 2 months to punch again, then training. I think maybe by summer at best.

In all seriousness, I think he should fight a bum as his farewell fight in Poland AT BEST, if not just call it quits right now. He needs to consider his health. It's much more important than winning the title.

Yeah, you gotta admit that Austin caught him, and was on his way to taking Golota out in embarrassing fashion, had the arm not been injury.

He was being eaten alive, arm injury or not, the outcome was going to be the same, if you ask me.

Austin was too fast and aggressive and Golota didn't know what to do, other than get knocked around.

Sad to say, but I think he's done as a fighter. He may fight on, but I doubt it. I think he'll come to his senses and realize he was performing terribly even before his arm injury.

And if Austin can do that to you, think what a Klit brother would do to him. Even Valuev would humilate this vesion of Golota.

And this is coming from a big Golota fan, but I gotta be real about it.

Oh man, I didn't need to see that. Freakin breaks my heart to see him so depressed.

    :|

Can someone translate what the hell Mariola is saying here, prob something like "AG is never gonna fight again."

Mariola Gołota: "Nie będzie następnej walki Andrzeja"; Sam Colonna trener Andrzeja Gołoty: "Powiem mu, że powinien przestać boksować".
