He will fight again. He ain't gonna go out like this.

By the way, that avatar is ridiculous, but a little funny.

This is the week from hell for me. First what occurred on Tuesday, then to see my favorite boxer and sports figure go out like that. I'm totally bummed.

But i thank Golota for all the memories, and i appreciate all of them. I don't want to see him get hurt so I wish he would call it a career now. Only a select few could do what he did for a living. He should be proud. It was a hell of a ride the whole way.

After a long day of work, I decided to go to the gym after work- I figurered if I had waited till 6, what was another few hours. Finally juts watched it. Damn that was tough. I feel so bad for Andrew. Not a good way to start my weekend. I'm with him till the end but for the first time I really do hope he hangs em up (maybe 1 more fight against a no hoper like others have mentioned) but I dont think I want to see him in there with anyone decent again.

This is the man that turned me on to this great sport and made me into a boxing fan. I have nothing but admiration for him and it has been such a crazy ride with this nut...but I loved every minute of it. Im just sad to see it end like this. I must now go drink until I cant remember this anymore! Head up Andrew!!!!!

Watch Bowe-Golota II. Then image that Golota in the ring with Austin. Perhaps that will cheer you up.

    Good post!

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]41-year-old former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce "The Atlantic City Express" Seldon (39-7, 35 KOs) destroyed Brad Gregory (11-2, 9 KOs). Seldon dropped Gregory early in round one and finished him at 2:01 of round two. Seldon next faces Lamon Brewster later this year.

Selden drops a bum and now gets Brewster. If he beats Brewster, He will be in line for a title shot.If Seldon can do it, so can Golota.

    GO GOLOTA!!!

    Thanks, buddy!

What is it about Golota that his fans have such an intense attachment with him? Being a die-hard Golota fan is like being a member of some weird cult, or something. We've all been through the ups and downs of this entertaining & unusual career, and we've remained loyal and always hoped he'd succeed! Always hoped he'd fulfill that potential we KNEW he had.

He made a lot of mistakes along the way, and also had his fair share of bad luck, too.

In the long run, he'll be remembered as an egnimatic character whose antics inside and outside the ring caused an almost circus-like atmosphere of excitement.

But the reality is, he was much better than he will likely ever be remembered.

For people that did not live through the times, it's too easy to just say "Bowe was shot, and Lewis crushed Golota, end of story!"

THAT'S wha's so ****ing disappointing about his career. That wasn't the whole story.

And the two nights he fought Bowe, the two of them might well have been the best two heavyweights on the planet. You just don't see fights like theirs, in particular, the rematch. It was an absolute marvel to watch.

I really am sad to see it end this way, as I'm sure all the Golotaholics are.

What is it about this athlete that makes us want to see him succeed so badly?

That injury picture is almost heartbreaking -- the poor guy is absolutely distraught!

I wish Golota the best, hopefully he'll give his fans one last "easy" against a club fighter. If he's going to retire, I wish him the best.

It's his abilities and his flaws combined that make him so intriguing.
He is a flawed work of art, and that makes him interesting to watch.

Plus, controversy, weirdness and excitement follows this man. He's bad, he's good, he's great, he's robbed, he's crazy, he's hot, he's cold, he's lucky, he's cursed! You never know what will happen when Andrew shows up.

Speaking of tears Jets, I actually cried as I typed this to Rumsfeld earlier today.

'Hey Rums, I would like to thank you for reviving the old Golota forum (Ultimate Golota Homepage Forum) and creating The Golota Express, providing refugee to all of us Golotaholics for so many years. Every single day I looked forward to coming here and reading up on news of Golota and talking with you guys. That is probably the biggest thing I will miss about being a Golota fan. '

    :|

I am not a big cryer or a drama queen but damn man it's just been so long (12 and a half years) and now it's all over and I really do feel so bad for Andrew. It breaks my heart that he wanted this so badly after it took so long to mentally mature and only now he no longer has the tools to do it.

Likes Rums said, it's strange how attached so many of us are to Golota. Unexplainable. I have been a sports fan for many years and never have i put so much heart and soul into rooting for someone like this guy and I suspect I never will again.

You do with words what I do with paint.

And to answer your question, I think it was his talent that impressed us the most. When I saw him the 1st time against Donnell Nicholson, I couldn't believe his build, like a Sherman Tank. I wondered if he could box? After a round or 2, I couldn't believe my eyes. And even better...he was Polish!:yep

It was love at 1st site. But when he headbutted DN, I asked myself what is ****in wrong with this guy? He kicking his ****ing ass & he pulls that ****. I guess you could say that was the 1st indication for what was instore.
But this ain't the time to dwell on the negative. Its the to dwell on our own personal feelings towards a man who just couldn't achieve his goal, but kept fighting. In all his failures, he should be an inspiration to us all. Even to his mofo haters over all the years.

Reading their bull**** hurt me worse than his defeats sometimes.

I finally watched the clip...and of course I though Golota looked old and slow (not as bad as in his prior fight though)....but if not for the injury he would have sustained the 1st round onslaught and defeated Austin. Mollo was much more sharper and powerful then Ray and Andrew knew how to keep him at bay.......very unfortunate injury.
I think AG should have a rematch with Austin and call it quits for good.
