Golota couldn't steam roll a semi-conscious Mike Mollo. Sad but true (though this is probably not the best thread to try and be objective about Andrzej ;)).

Anyway, the guy's got more lives that a cat, so I hope the injury is not career ending and he gets a chance to redeem himself yet again.

Golota beat the hell out of Mollo, even with one eye. Maybe steam roll is a bad choice of words but I believe he would have cruised right past Austin.

It's pointless in my opinion. Golota can KO a zillion bums. He's determined to beat the best to prove he's the best. This injury could really delay things, though.

I would definitely argue that, after the huge derision after the losses to Grant and Tyson, coming back years later to box Byrd to a standstill and get a dubious loss to Ruiz was a shot in the arm to Golota's reputation.

    Uh...no pun intended there :p

I really think more than anything the inactivity hurt Golota. Older guys making comebacks need to stay busy the way Holmes and Foreman did.

He already proved he was a champion in the Byrd and Ruiz fights...It doesn't matter if he got robbed! ...I would just hate for this to be the last ring memory of Golota.

True. People hold up the Mercer win for Holmes, rightly so, but apart from that his victories were against a wide selection of no-hopers, tomato cans and the odd name-value journeyman like Jesse Ferguson.

But, he kept busy. That's what you need.
