    So this is an exhibition?

That actually makes sense...and Nicholson getting a pro license would have actually made zilch.

Too bad they couldn't have gotten Holyfield that would have been an interesting match up, even for two old farts.

Not that Nicholson is looking stellar from what I've seen.

    Nice to see you, joecool!

Screw that. Holyfield would have landed a bomb for the ages on Golota.

I do believe Golota from 1996-97 would have been a hell of a fight with Holyfield, though, and I think Golota could have hung in there with him and possibly beaten him during that short time.

Yeah, but in the grand scheme - Nicholson fighting for the first time since before Dubya got re-elected still doesn't make much sense to me.

    No argument there.

As for Golota vs Holyfield 96-97, weren't those the years Holyfield was rejuvenated and went from losing to Moorer and Bowe prior to knocking out Moorer and Tyson? I'm not so sure Golota would have done so well against Holyfield. Evander was extremely durable and Golota has shown he doesn't typically perform as well against 'shorter' fighters. However this was a physically prime Golota with that piston stiff jab. If he could have kept Holyfield on the outside with the jab he could have decisioned him but I could also see Holyfield finding a way to get inside, land some bombs and frustrate Golota.

Yeah. For a long time I did believe 96 Golota would have beaten Holyfield around that period, but as more time passes, so too do more and more doubts regarding a former opinion I once held in the utmost confidence.
