    Nearly every year on Oct 4th I'm reminded of this dreadful night. :-( After the Bowe fights I thought Golota was unstoppable, was in total shock. Hey at least Golota got in a few of those stiff jolting jabs. :!:

    This was my first live fight :yikes

    What a disappointment.

    That being said...anyone who went to this got to see Arturo Gatti TKO Gabe Ruelas in FOTY.

    I also remember being 15 years old going with my father, brother, and family friend and being disturbed witnessing the levels of drunkenness of the Polacks! :lol::lol::lol:

    Golota never performed poorly when Big George was there. He just finished badly (Bowe 2x, Grant).

    I think Roy Jones was actually the 3rd announcer for Golota-Lewis, but I can't be arsed to click the link and watch.

    Yeah RJJ was commentator. I remember after the fight he said Golota showed up not prepared and he froze.

    He was also commentator for Golota-Brewster and after the fight he said Golota didn't freeze the same way he did Lewis, he got iced.

    Good times.....

    During the Brewster fight I remember Roy exclaiming, "This fight is over" - pretty sure he said it several times after the first knockdown. I didn't want to believe it, but I so knew he was correct.
