The critics would say that part of this magnetism, are his unintended circus antics, which are always a possibility in his fights. Another reason, however, is his never realized potential that we've only seen inconsistant glimpses of, here and there. It's this upside that makes Andrew Golota an enigma. No reasonable man can ever say that Golota is an over-achiever.

Golota's notoriety has to do with a combination of components. Yes, he acted like a street fighter nutcase in the mid 90s by biting, intentional headbutting, low-blows, DQs etc. A train wreck everyone rubbernecks to see. But he also showed everyone he could fight and had some serious talent under the training of Duva and Bloodworth. He had one of the best jabs for heavyweights of the 90s before he had his car accident. Good power, good chin, he had all the skill and talent a fighter needed to be champion. His fights with Bowe were 2 of the most memorable and exciting fights of the 90s.

Also, we must remember presentation. Golota looked the part and as shallow as it may seem, looks can take you very far. Golota looked like mean, fresh faced Ivan Drago movie star. Combine all this with his Polish following and exciting fights (Bowe, Sanders, Pouha, Grant, Byrd etc) and you have your explaination why he is so popular despite never offcially winning a title.

 

Golota will not school mcmuffin because mcmuffin does not have the ability to learn.
