Great analysis. However, can you imagine a young Duran, Hagler, or Hearns ever voluntarily handing their belt to a prospective opponent?

Why would Matchroom be upset about these 2 fighting?

Joshua will make more against Povetkin than either man in this fight......

And then, if he wished, could take on the loser.....and then the winner.

Hearn is ahead of Warren/Finkel again.

Only if Espinoza's family have been kidnapped and he's acting under duress.

    Cue time travel spooky music...

'It's very unfortunate, but we understand that the boxer's health must come first. We send our best wishes to Frank and Tyson and look forward to hopefully revisiting this epic contest at a later date. We're delighted to announce however that promising up and coming American heavyweight Dominic Breazeale has been in camp as a contingency and that today we agreed terms for a spectacular contest for the WBC championship to take place at the same time and venue as the cancelled Fury fight.'

Im afraid my view is very cynical. Both sides have signed a confienciality clause. Rumours of Fury getting 15 Million are just rumours. If the deal was a great one both sides would be more than happy to get all over social media throwing more mud at Anthony Joshua and Hearn. But they signed that clause. Other rumours ive heard is there is a rematch clause in place for Deontay if he loses but nothing for Fury. Nothing wrong with that Wilder is the A side and the belt holder.

Wilders managers know that they have done things in this deal that they complained or mocked Hearn and Joshua about when that fight was being talked about. Dont forget these are only my opinions but i feel it was Finkel and Wilder that were obstructive and awkward throughout the Joshua none deal, Hearn was too arrogant but that whole thing just turned in to a game over a real negotiation real quick. There are double standards and things to question all over the place in this Fury deal so im not surprised the contracts and the fighters mouths are all locked up.

But its done, it doesnt matter if Fury does well or is shafted, it doesnt matter what is or isnt in those contracts. Fights on, thats all that matters. Ive not actually checked i presume Fury has been slotted in to the top 15 with the WBC now.

I bet we all come back to this above post before October. They wont call it before the AJ Povetkin fight. But then would they really want to tell Breazeale that early and give him a training camp of more than 2 weeks.?

Not sure. Hearn had Takam as a contingency for Pulev Joshua but I'm not sure if the plan was for him to be on the undercard if the fight took place as arranged? If so then Breazeale (or whoever) would get the full camp.

Anyway I confidently stated this fight wouldn't take place and may have to eat my words so I guess I should be less cynical...

It was not declared another lineal champion in the time of his lay off, therefore he is still the lineal champion and
most recognize him as the lineal champion.

When I see a post like this I wonder is the poster really this clueless or just looking to get a rise out of the rest of us.

Fury is a joke. Completely lacking in confidence, he either acts like a carnival barker or gets drugged out to the point that he can't defend his title. Obviously, any guy who does this lacks inner confidence. He was so terrified of being the champ because he knew was a fraud, that he took himself out of the equation altogether, doping himself up and having a nervous breakdown.

Until AJ is beaten, he is The Man. Come and get it, if you think you can, Deontay. As to Fury, he is not a serious contender. Gypsies are what they are. They make a living conning people. So, yes, he is the Gypsy King. You got that right.
