What pisses me off about all these 'prospects' are is that I here some name, and think:

Finally! Somebody who's not a bum!

So I go and watch videos of them, and think: Hey! He's not that bad! He could be awesome in a few years time!

Then I check them out on Boxrec/Wikipedia....

Age: 28. Or 32. Or something like that.

I know heavyweight can peak laters, but being called a 'prospect for the future' at age 28?

Bermane Stiverne returns against TBA on 14 April.

I dunno who TBA is gonna be, but he's gonna get smashed into next week.
Vitali must stop ducking now, he knows that Stiverne would expose his "iron" chin.

I've never seen him fight, have you? What do you think?
Looking at his record, he has a stoppage win over Zack Page, who is king of the HW journeymen. He very rarely gets stopped, anyone who can stop him deserves respect :yep

Would like to see him in with a C level fighter like Gavern or Quezada next.

Check out Edmund Gerber, who's still only 23, technically sound, huge power.

Now he is one to watch, strangely he doesn't get spoken about much on here.

He's in with solid gatekeeper Maurice Harris on the Steiglitz/Groves & Huck/Afolabi undercard on May 5.

If he wins that he really makes a name for himself, as Harris has stoppage wins over Rossy and Aguilera over the past 18 months.

Anyone know anything about Texas HW Fred Allen?
He's only 24 and is 13-0-1. The draw came against Domonic Jenkins who has a good win over Gavern on his record.
Anyway Allen has a win over Zack Page which is always a good sign.

Another 24 year old is Oscar Rivas, a Colombian based in Montreal. He is 9-0 with 6 KOs and is fighting solid journeyman Kendrick Releford on the 20th. Rivas beat Kubrat Pulev at the 2008 Olympics before losing to Cammarelle in the quarter finals. Anyone seen Rivas fight? Here he is against Matthew Greer:

    Gary Cornish 5(2)-0 http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=568256&cat=boxer

He's only 24 & had a handful of amatuer fights. Athletic for his size (6'7 & 235lbs) & an aggressive punching style Cornish is a work in progress but has a lot of potential.

Towers is a hard & accurate puncher from Sheffield. He is trained by the Ingles & promoted by Hatton. At 32 he's no spring chicken but has only been a pro for 3 years & will hopefully be challenging for domestic & european titles soon.

He started boxing at 16 but drifted away & started robbing drug dealers. At 17 Richard faced two attempted murder charges.

“I went around this house to do some business and these lads all got knives out and went for me. I think it was a case of mistaken identity but it all went off. I got a knife off one of them and I think I stabbed about five people. I did twelve months on remand while I was waiting for the case to be heard . In the end only two of them turned up to court and it was obvious they were looking for some compensation. They had started it and it all went pear shaped for them. Thankfully the judge saw it that was as well and I got found not guilty."

Other serious offenses followed & in 2000 Towers was sentenced to 13 years for the kidnap & ransom of a major drug dealer. After serving 6 1/2 years he was released & went straight back to the Ingle gym, boxing has completely turned his life around.

His most recent fight was 2 weeks ago & he knocked out Harold Sconeirs, who had beaten Jameel McCline in his previous fight.
