Jones just doesn't seem to have anything in his legs anymore. He sits on the ropes and fights in spurts. I'd love to see him beat Calzaghe, who throws crappy looking arm punches to win fights..but I don't see it happening.

Don't get me wrong Calzaghe is a great winner whos fast and throws a million punches, I just hate watching him fight, his punches look really sloppy and looping at times, I'd love to see Dawson take him out.

Imperial... you are seeing what jones wants you to see and not really whats happening.

You REALLY BELIEVE, Roy could have won the third fight but instead... was ****ing around? He could have won if he wanted to... but chose to **** around and lose? Give me a break man... these guy train and prepare for months to win, and he was fighting the guy that just knocked him out, if he could have won that, he would have, but he didnt have the heart to go out and grab that win.... so INSTEAD, he tried clowning around.

Thats honestly the differance between roy jones, and a lot of other champions who lay it on the line to go out and snatch victory out of the jaw of defeat... that is one of the most important fights in roys life, the final fight of his only trilogy against the man to bring him to earth, and he didnt have the guts/heart to win it when it was all on the line and Tarver was there to be taken.

This saturday will not be any differant.

90% correct post, the only part I disagree with is that "Prime Roy would have won...maybe."

Prime Roy Jones would have definitely beat Calzaghe, and it definitely would have been a one-sided fight.

Well said kirk, Jones' heart was greatly questioned in that 3rd fight, and he lost a fair amount of fans there.

    this is how it ends:

round 7: jones wipes his brow postures for a james toney type knockout faints to the body immediately followed by a hop skip n jump MJ style'y slamdunk bolo uppercut (from above),backflips a 360 in and out of the ring, lays a 7 punch combo on the already flailing leek lover and just to add insult to injury raps him a verse on his way to his knees..

meanwhile esb is set alight once again, with a 1000 "calzaghe is a bum/i want to man love the roidster" threads, the jones ho's are sent into rapturous bouts of ringside bogle'ing,"ya'll must a forgot" immediately tops the US charts as the welsh lad lays incoherantly mumbling "land of our fathers" hoping for another swansong with richie woodhall, not roy.

    just my opinion.

    This is how it goes.

    Round 1: The drama starts

Round 2: Roy tests Joe's heart

Round 3: Joe starts to falter

Round 4: Joe can't keep Roy off him.

If Calzaghe tries to Box from the outside and outspeed Jones...He will lose!
Joe's best & only bet would be to attempt to swarm and force jr. into a shootout.

Jones Vs. Calzaghe will be a "Pose" fest for the first 5-6 Rds.
(If Jones can shoot his straight lead right hand against Joe's pattern of
1-2-3-Drop hand's and shoot back style, Then Jones Jr has this in the bag)

Actually, I think Jones can win a UD, possibly a KO.

His best and only chance of winning, is to counter Joe over and over. He needs to let Joe come to him but not by sitting on the ropes and waiting. When Joe comes in and throws his looping flurries, Roy needs to time him with right hands. Joe is very prone to the right and Roy has a good one which will be a key strategy for Jones in this fight. This will make Joe think twice and would ultimately let Jones take control of the fight and box his way to a victory.
This is my prediction, he'll knock Joe down and rock him a few times which will make him respect Roy. Roy comfortable UD. This might look like the Toney fight.

That's correct, but what i think may hapened is Joe will tri to come inside to do his usual combo slapping and get cought coming in with Roy's counter punch, and we all know what can do counter punch specialy the ones you don't see, like the Vic vs Donaire fight
I truly belive Roy has a chance to stop Joe
