    Jones TKO late rounds

I think Jones can perform on the night and Calzaghe will be facing someone who is not only faster but also hits harder than most of his previous opponents.

Calzaghe will wait for Roy to become offensive and try to counter with his pity patter punches only to be left hitting air and catching combos to the face

Calzaghe will push Jones to the ropes and slap the **** out of him, stoping him in the mid rounds.

    Right here!

Jones by UD and maybe even a stoppage.

Its foolish for those that hope the "old Roy Jones" will come back for this fight. However, a determined Roy even at this stage of his career will beat Joe C...:deal

Roy is going to put on a show best believe.

He's finally has his body back to where he feels comfortable in the ring and that's all he's needed from time he went back down to LHW.

Roy Jones only lost those fights because of weight issues...believe that

Classic Roy just wouldn't be in range for the slappy flurries, he would be in and out landing big shots, outfighting him on the inside and getting out when necessary and just potshotting until Joe was ready to fall down. Whether THIS version of RJJ can do that remains to be seen.

Roy's left hook will be the difference in this fight. I see Roy winining by UD or possible stoppage. I was watching Calzahge - Kessler last night along with Cal - Hopkins and I also believe size may play a factor in this fight. Joe's Defence better be top notch also b/c kessler was catching him with a lot of straight rights. Roy's right might put Joe down.

this is a funny thread... funny because so many of you are now saying RJJ is completely shot and had no business with Calzaghe in the ring.

man re-read the thread. Plenty of people in this thread said that Jones was too past it to beat Calzaghe. That they hoped he would pull it off but that realistically speaking he doesn't have it anymore

Just re-read the thread there are quite a few people saying this. Bumping this did not help your case.

as you can see, bumping this thread just proves people knew Roy was shot before the fight.

Don't waste your time. He's just acting like a ****ing idiot in every thread. It's probably just another one of Rico Tardafora's 23329203 alter egos.

But how many others said he was not shot....how many fighters (including Winky Wright, Toney, Hopkins) and writers said RJJ would win.

If you ask me, RJJ was past his best... but was still good enough to fight Calzaghe. He had him floored in one and in trouble on a couple of occasions. In fact before the cut in the 7th... a good case could be made for RJJ being only 1 or 2 rounds down, if you judge the fight on hard scoring shots as opposed to volume (pitter-patter) punches. After 7th it was more or less survival mode and he showed heart.... I think last nights RJJ would've beat a lot of LHW out there. JC was too much on his game to lose, but I could easily see RJJ last night beating Tarver or Glen Johnson. For example the uppercut right hand RJJ caught Calzaghe with would've had many a fighter in big trouble.

a Prime Roy of the 90s would be a completely differant proposition and would outpoint Calzaghe with quick combinations. But it would be as competitive if not more than RJJ v Hopkins/Toney
