:huhYou mean in his prime? The only time they even fought in the same division after this was when Toney was struggling at light heavy and battling obscurity. Back to the focus: I hate Toney's mouth but admire his use of angles and punching accuracy. Some of his fights have been downright incredible to watch in regards to seeing pure skill.
I agree. For instance, Toney's first fight with Peter. WOW, what a display of fast and accurate counterpunching. I was amazed they gave Peter that decision, even though they did realize it was a mistake and ordered a rematch, but Toney won that first fight, clearly, if you ask me. That fight was an amazing display of top level skill that Toney showed, as he does in so many of his fights. He can fight in very close, while up against them, and hammer someone repeatedly, and they can't seem to do much about it. LOL If the Rahman fight the other night is any indication, maybe Toney still has enough left to get himself a title fight.
Ok, you got me to bite. enlighten me, who did toney duck and who is toney affraid of? :tired :tired This will be interesting
james toney is sick anyone who is talking **** about him only remembers the fat guy we've seen in the last few years if you haven't seen how sick of a fighter he was, watch the following: vs nunn vs mccallum 1 and 2 vs littles vs williams vs jirov (2002 fight of the year) vs holyfield that will probably give u a nice overview of his career
Given the track record of Gomez, I don't think anyone can be guilty of ducking him. The guy is never in the ring and doesn't seem to care about fighting top opposition.
His interviews on Showtime were great -- mostly because he was always telling off Jim Gray. I especially loved when he out and out ignored what Jim was talking about and then slapped the mic out of his hands.
