thanks! Wow, I already suspected that selecting a banger like Green before the Hopkins-fight was a little risky, but never in a million years, would I have thought that he would have been dropped from the first serious power punch...
Shame he had to go out on such a bad note, it wouldn't surprise me if he fought again though such is the nature of Roy Jones Jr. I wonder now if the rumour were true about the proposed Hopkins VS. Jones featuring on the Pacquiao VS. Mayweather undercard, and if so, what can compensate as big a draw as that fight would have done?
That was bull**** and im aussie and kinda was a green fan but now im not so sure after this crap. Roy cant see **** coming at all anymore. That punch he woulda seen a mile away and it was much the same as with glen johnson how on the slow mo you can see the right hand coming a mile away and roy just dosent move his head like he would have easily in the past, he is just stuck in the same spot with his left hand down . As someone said earlier his timing is ****ed...he may have his speed and combos but defiantly timing is one of the things he has lost. It was ****ing sad to see....The worst part was every dumb arse was acting like green is superman. All I saw was a old useless man get bombed. Danny Green is pretty ****ing good and tough and punches hard no doubt but prime roy slaps his arse silly with ease. Paul Briggs can go get ****ed. You couldnt even beat adamek on 2 occasions so shut the **** up.
Roy is definitely shot. I wish it could have gone on longer, but i could see green would have gave roy a systematic beat down over the course of several rounds.
Anyone else think this fight was rigged? Why the hell didnt Jones throw a single punch during Greens flurry? He just stood there and took it
Roy's resumee would have been a lot better if he fought this legit kind of opponents in his prime instead of all those policemen, bartenders and basically chasing every boxing municipal worker in the tri-state... other way arround would have worked better.
His reflexes have been gone for a long time , Jones never had any fundamentals but his supreme athleticism made up for it ( and made his style ) I always said Jones isnt an all time great boxer , but is probably the greatest athlete to ever lace up gloves . Problem is when his reflexes started to go his pride wouldnt let him retire. If he had handled Tarver in their first fight you have to think he would have retired then and been remembered in much higher esteem than he will be now !
