The official Kovalev vs Ward prediction thread....

Ward UD. Another anti-climatic performance (for non-purists) with Ward as the clear winner. I've seen nothing has changed on this forum. Posters judging with the heart, not with the brain.

 

Although in effect Froch's resume > that of Kovalev, fact is Kovalev is more skilled than Froch, by far.

 

Haven't seen the forum so split on anything for a while

Ward decision in a close fight. Ward possibly hitting the deck at some point

That has yet to be proven in the ring. Wake me when the best name on Kovalev's resume isn't a *49* year ole senior citizen...

 

I also feel Ward is more adaptable than Kovalev. It is a difficult fight to predict with certainty, I see a few different scenarios in my head with each fighter winning but Ultimately I do have Kovalev picked as my winner which I was leaning towards in the beginning but since uppercut artist picked Ward and based on his intelligence I went with Kovalev.

That's the great thing about 50/50 fights,Thurman v Porter and Frampton v Cruz were two other examples this year and both were close and exciting,I'd love to see what BHop thinks as he fought Kovalev albeit at an advanced age but still BHop beat Pascal and lasted all twelve rounds only he never tried to hurt him and only pushed his jab out.
As good as Ward is folk are mad to suggest that he can avoid Kovalevs blows at some point,even An out of shape Smith tagged Ward and Barrera landed also.
Ward will have success but so will Kovalev and in Frampton and Thurmans case the judges sided with the more quality shots

 

Kovalev...but fight is 50/50

 

This is a bold prediction but I'm going for it. Ward will stop Kovalev.
