    Christ on a pogo stick...

Lewis fought for Canada in the Olympics and retains citizenship. He fought under the British flag as a pro and is obviously a British citizen as well. The Commonwealth permits both, you know.

Both nations can state that Lewis represented them and not be lying when they make that claim. Why is it so hard for everyone to accept that?

Canada can claim the olympic gold and Britain can claim his pro career.

    Exactly.

Lennox Lewis legacy belongs in England. He's English at heart, as he's stated time and time again in the past.

hmmmm. i don't think so Lennox took up boxing in CANADA, how hard is this to understand?

If Lennox didn't move to Canada he wouldn't even have a pro career.

on a side note....Manny Catchweight has a little pekpek dick and hopefully he gets KTFO.

If he were born in Canada, raised there till the age of 12/13, then moved to Britain, competed for Britain in the Olympics, you would still claim him to be Canadian, so as you can see, you will just fudge the issue to suit your agenda, irrespective of logic.

i mean why are you defeding Lewis? You're from Sweden and Lennox said himself that he absolutley hates Sweden, looks a quote from him...

"Sweden is a shithole, always has been always will. Considerably one of the worst countries in Europe. Hopefully i never have to go to that boring ass piece of **** place again" - Lennox "The Lion" Lewis 2002

that's what all the British Eurobums are doing in this thread. They probably have glass jaws too.

If Lewis didn't move to Canada he wouldn't have had the chin he has today. Obviously everybody knows when you're from Europe you are born with a glass chin. Lennox's glass chin came out twice against Rahman and McCall. You can't erase a fully glass jawed mandible from Europe, but he did improve it by coming to Canada. If he stayed in Europe his chin would have became even more glassier by the day. He would have got knocked out nonstop. But by moving to Canada he improved his chin.

Being born within a nation's borders does constitute nationality, though. So does citizenship.

The thing that I find a bit irksome in the "Lewis is British" camp, is the notion that once Lewis started fighting in Britain, he ceased to be a Canadian citizen. That wasn't the case. He actually came back to Canada to accept induction into this nation's Sports Hall of Fame, and stated at the time that he was happy to do so.

I will admit that he identified himself as being British throughout his professional career; and I do realize that this wasn't only because that was where the money was when he started his pro career.

Either way, Lennox Lewis represented both nations at some point in his life, and represented them quite well, imo.

Lewis spent his formative years in Canada and fought for Canada in the Olympics so I think it's wrong to think of him as being only British. He is British/Canadian of Jamaican descent.

yea it does suck for French people, I can't stand French people especially in the province of Quebec.

Ontario is where it's at, and Toronto PWNS all of Europe, no doubt.
