Nah, Pac-man becomes a footnote because he's not the winner unless the internet drastically changes how boxing history is handled.

It's up to historians for how anyone will be remembered. Don't believe me ask a question in Classic and see if they don't tell you which author is seen at the man for that subject and what his opinion is. Again, what his, the author's, opinion is and even then those authors tend to have no balls and just defer to the opines from the time. No records are set straight they are simply kept.

Is Tyson Fury Lineal? Jem Ward retired five times, did absolutely nothing any of the times he came out of retirement to reinstate himself outside of claiming the title with words, and was considered champion until Burke fought O'Rourke. In consistency. Why? Historians are pussies.

Peter Maher won the HW title after Corbett retired and elected which fight would be for his vacant title. No one sees Peter Maher as a champion today, he is a claimant. Jeffries retires, elects the next title fight for his vacancy, and Hart is considered a champion by every authority.

Pac-Man is in that boat. In the next 100 years just an ass load of info could come out to support Pac, and it'd get logged, but he'd still be a footnote just like Peter is, just like Ward's bull**** is.

I think modern boxers will have more benefit of TV and film. Manny Pacquiao's destruction of Miguel Cotto will never die.

Pacquiao's ascension through the weight divisions is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.

Dude, quit trolling. To understand this fight, you only need to know 2 things:

    1) Neither guy did much — Floyd landed the lowest percentage of punches on any of his opponents... ever. And Pac didn't do much either, but he was tit for tat w/ Floyd outside of the 2 rounds that he stunned Floyd. There was no schooling.

    2) Pacquiao authored the two most significant sequences of the fight (his flush shots to the head and body were the most effective punches of the fight). And he came forward all night.

Stylistically, and based on size advantages, Floyd should have Gatti'd Pacquiao.

That's true, but we could all see after watching the Cotto fight that Pacquiao was half shot.

The Cotto fight leaves a lasting impact. Much more so than a war torn hugfest.

The greatness of the pac man is being lauded and praised as it should. However the true master money may totally discombobulated and neutralized everything pac even thought about doing. The pac man kneels and serves only one master MONEY MAYWEATHER.

No, if someone did not beat many great fighters than why should he be rated top 10 ATG?
