all he had to do was show up. the win was in the bag

2 of the judges were in floyds pockets. they were the same judges in maidana 1 who gave floyd the clear win when the fight was extremely close

Mentioning the Maidana and Pac fights as controversial, would-be 'losses' indicates that you understand very little about boxing. Saying SRL had the 'same power' as Pac/Maidana at WW confirms it. He had a hell of a lot more at 147 and yes he would have beaten Floyd.

From my understanding boxing has has had very few changes since its birth. Obviously drug testing then also switching from 15 rounds to 12 rounds. In my opinion this lack of change is not keeping up with what modern day fans want from a combat sport. As time goes along MMA gets more popular and as far as boxing it has been :patsch . As we can see with the system in place boxing continues to let down more than less(THANK YOU CANELO/KIRKLAND). I believe a couple simple changes should be made.

1.Scoring - Should be noted and shown after every round. Judge should list reasons why he scored that round for one fighter or the other. Allow the fighters, boxers, corners and everyone else to know whats happening as it is happening. It will change the dynamics of the fights and boxers will begin risking more in the ring when they are losing. Maybe Manny would have done more in the last 4 rounds if he knew how bad he was losing. He might have turned it in to a pier 6 brawl lol instead of trying to chase and box at spots he could catch up to Floyd..but he didn't and we will never know what that fight could have been if he knew were he stood. Absolutely no reason for it to be a secret until the end, unless somebody is hiding something :huh

2.One Unified Body - Boxers should NOT be able to choose their opponent. Make a ranking system if you are number 2 then you fight number 1, 3 fights 4, etc. this is common/standard protocol in all sports and what all sports fans expect and understand best. This happens in EVERY other sport. Why not boxing? Makes absolutely no sense. When it comes to winning the title they do it in football, basketball, baseball, UFC, etc. Let the promoters stay but I believe for the sake of the sport it would be best to make the best fight the best or the promoter be heavily fined and punished. In boxing these days it seems at times we watch more boxing exhibitions than we watch true boxing matches these days...don't let the last couple weeks fool you this is still off the energy of the big fight. It should be changed!

I see so many fans upset at Floyd and/or Manny right now, but nothing that has happened is Floyd's or Manny's fault in my opinion. Floyd dominated and got a W by the rules put in place by boxing, he arranged the fight under the rules that boxing has in place. He did nothing wrong and he won ingloriously against Manny, but a win is a win and its not his fault...he just followed the rules that he could. As for Manny, for some weird reason he thought he was winning so why engage? Why push the action if you feel you are winning on aggression and the other fighter is running? Not his fault either. Maybe if he would have known he would have done more...just a thought. The outcome of this let down had just as much or more to do with the sport and its prehistoric design than it did with fighters. There is a flaw in the design of the sport and it is hurting boxing to the common day fan. If these changes were already in place they would have been on their 4th or 5th fight by now and they would be risking it all when they stepped in the ring bc they would know what the score is at all time. This fight of the century was a huge let down don't people think its time for a change?

Its not just boxing, baseball needs it too! Baseball is :dead these days

No shame in getting out-boxed by Tommy. And no shame in losing to Duran no matter the manner. And yes, SRL beats Floyd at 147. So does Tommy, and so does Duran.

No shame at all but I'm just making the point that his boxing IQ is not unparalleled. As a boxer, Leonard could be beaten, but Leonard has intangibles with his ability to finish and his feeling for the moment, which are superior to Mayweather's. Mayweather is the better technician.

I'm not disrespecting SRL, just saying.

    SRL beats Mayweather at 147.

The fact you even argue the Zab DQ really ruins anything you ever say on here again.

A member of the opposing corner lay their hands on a fighter it's an instant DQ, for some reason when Roger Mayweather was choking out Zab mid fight this rule was ignored. I don't care what the final score was that's a DQ, also after being choked Zab's head wasn't in the fight so the scores are again null and void. DQ either way you slice it.
