yup. that is how they redefined ring generalship. floyd is on the back foot defending while pac is pressing the attack and all judges have it for floyd. it is why pac is saying he won since he did most of making the fight and floyd just defended. pac was making the fight while floyd was just defending so it turned into a lousy bout. the judges favored the defender who seemed to have controlled the fight resulting in their worst career performances due to one not wanting to fight.

    Damn!

    This is actually pretty surprising.
I always scored round 3 for Floyd but Pac was indeed correct in saying that he avoided much of Floyd's punches and was dishing out more of his own.
There were subtle overhands and jabs that Pac connected here that I never saw initially.

    This got me thinking now.
Doesn't this show just how much of a master FMJ really is, making rounds like this appear to be in his favor? (i.e. making false connects by not retracting his arm immediately, not reacting too much when a punch connects, making sure his body language like dropping his guard down would make him appear confident and in control, etc.)
I mean when watched live and in full speed you would think that Floyd was in control.
But here, very clearly, Manny was controlling the fight, ring generalship clearly is in his favor.
Then there's the subtle linger and pull to the injured arm when in the clinch.
The mind games by talking trash during the fight.
You just have to hand it to Floyd.

Aside, Pac's defense has always been hugely underrated.
Sure he has bad habits but you gotta respect his parries, dodges and slips.
He can employ these against someone as quick as Floyd.
    That's some quality skills there.
And those feints can catch even the most intelligent of boxers like Floyd off guard.
You just have to appreciate the two best of this generation.

    :good

I think Floyd is an ass too and I can't remember a fight where I was actually hoping he would win since he moved up from 130. Unfortunately some people take his flaws as a person and use them as a reason to create controversy where none should exist.

I have no problem with people bringing up the first Castillo fight as a controversial decision that went in Floyd's favor. I have no problem with people scoring the fight 7-5 for Castillo as I have on occasion. But a 7-5 fight that goes the other way is not a 'robbery'. But there is nothing controversial about the Maidana I fight (8-4 Floyd, competitive but clear) or the Pac fight (9-3, Semi-competitive).

Will the mainstream public forgive Floyd and Manny for selling us "The Fight of the Century", but instead gave us a $100 sparring session.

Before fighting each other both fighters stock was decreasing, neither was able to crack 1 million.

Now that the aura of Pac being the one two beat Mayweather is over, who is going to pay anything to watch Floyd fight?

The only way I see Floyd having major PPV success again is if he fights against GGG, outside of him, I can't see the mainstream getting excited about spending $50, or $100 to watch him pot-shot, clinch, and back-peddle.

I also think Pacquiao's stock continues to drop just liek Floyd's, but at least Pac can still bring the entertainment value abd may get decent buys, maybe.

With teh Pac-May fight out of the way, I think it's a new era for boxing. Let's hope the face of boxing isn't a despised, boring, ******* this time.
