    Close for Pacquiao. So what?

    That was close. This wasn't.

No, it wouldn't. Or it would only in a vacuum.

If I land 94 more punches than you over 12 rounds, sounds like I spread them out ... but what if I just threw shoeshines on you in 3 rounds that added up to all that. And you won the other nine rounds, plus in those three rounds you also landed some wicked shots that had me doing the chicken legs?

All these slow-mo punch counters are trying to score amateur fights. They ignore the four points on which professional boxing is judged.

And counting glancing, barely landing punches as scores and at the same time saying the other guy's "light, pillowfist touches" don't count is a purposeful, intellectually dishonest interpretation designed to reach a pre-ordained outcome that the judges got it wrong.

There's one jackleg on this forum who posted about 100 times that Floyd landed ZERO punches in the third round. That's so ridiculous as to make all other claims from "slow-mo rewatch data" suspect at best, because the only common denominator among the "just watch it in slow-mo and score it again" set is that they all want to say Pac won a fight that he didn't.

I watched it once and scored it for Mayweather 116-112. I'm not watching it again.

But if it helps you I see it as a no contest because Floyd was likely on PEDs.

Mayweather, but I very strongly dislike Khan, everybody knows that.

    I'd root for:

    Thurman
    Lara
    Golovkin
    Cotto II
    Canelo II
    Brook
    Bradley

...against Mayweather, at 147-160, among realistic options.

I'd root against Khan, Bundrage, Porter, and Andrade.

I don't like either fighter but I'd root for Khan just to see your trolling rampage afterwards. :yep

Loud mouth, delusional nutter ("I've the best chin in boxing! :nut"), makes all sorts of excuses for himself, has been disrespectful to other boxers, ducked Bradley and shifted blame, etc.

That and he does have buckets of talent and yet periodically goes full re****. Hard to feel sorry for him when he gets blasted.

Here's my stance on this. I believe that punch statistics in general (not slo-mo punch counters) are like trying to score amateur fights. That's why I see absolutely no purpose in trying to track punch stats during a fight in real-time. Like GGG vs Monroe round 4. At the end of that round, they flashed the punch stats for that round as if it was a freaking amateur fight or something. That's BS in my opinion, I think we can agree that, as we good and well know, punch counting real-time is highly inaccurate. So why in the heck is Showtime and HBO presenting these punch stats at the end of a fight. This is not ameteur boxing and those numbers are highly mis-leading.

The only reason why I am considering doing slo-mo punch stat tracking is to show how in accurate the real-time numbers are. This isn't amateur fighting so why should punch stat counting even be a part of professional boxing telecasts? it's like this mystery of boxing, these numbers that are never checked and yet so many on here use them to prove their fighter won or loss. It's completely ridiculous in my opinion, and from what you are saying my view on this is down your alley. Life would be easier and less complicated without compu box punch stats. The only reason why I feel the need to do some slo-mo punch stat tracking is to show how flawed the numbers are.

I can't speak for anyone else, you really need to have a High Def fight recording, preferably 60 FPS if available. Slow it down, have fun with it. A far more reasonable way to report compu box is for experts to examine the fight replay the day after a fight and view the entire fight from multiple angles to confirm exactly what punches landed and what didn't.

I also think this could be accompanied by a more open and transparent discussion of boxing decisions by the power that be. (HBO and Showtime could lead the way) If not, then it is up to us to do this kind of statistical breakdown of boxing fights on forums and youtube and stuff.

Haymon would never do that! :yep

(but Garcia...only because when Matthysse then kayoed him in their rematch he would be defeating the man who beat THE MAN)

    You didn't address this point:

And counting glancing, barely landing punches as scores and at the same time saying the other guy's "light, pillowfist touches" don't count is a purposeful, intellectually dishonest interpretation designed to reach a pre-ordained outcome that the judges got it wrong.

...which is a key point of the post you quoted, and one that I had voiced on the page before it* - whatsoever. You literally haven't touched upon it.
