Good post and I think you're partially correct, but let's not confuse the DLH and the Mosley Mayweather fought with their prime versions, and while we're at it, let's not pretend that Baldimir or Gatti were ever elite fighters. Gatti was an extremely entertaining fighter, but never elite.

While we're at it remember that Judah's biggest claim to fame was doing and chicken dance. Marquez is a good fighter but not at the weight he was forced to fight Floyd at, and Hatton I think is a bit over rated, but otherwise you make some good points. But I also think fans want their fighters to push themselves to the limit, if that means losing so be it. That was the big knock on Jones prior to the Ruiz fight, was that he didn't test himself enough. This is why people like me talk about the fab 4, because win or lose, they sought out the best fights. SRL would often do what Floyd does, which was stack the deck as much as he could in his favour, but nevertheless, at the end of the day he still got in the ring with the best and found a way to win. All we want Floyd to do is the same thing, and a prime Pac was the guy most wanted him to fight. Had he done so, perhaps he wouldn't have to call himself TGE, we'd be doing it for him. But unfortunately that ship has pretty much sailed.

Impossible to fight prime versions of every tough fighter you face for 18+ years.. What people seem to want Floyd to do is go search for a loss.. It's like people want him to go up until he find a guy he can't beat and fight him anyway.. He can't make 154 but people want him to ignore his body's limits to fight someone.. Him losing to a good middleweight would have very little to do with skill rather than size.. He might lose because he was too small and that's not fair...

Many of Floyd's wins are tainted though:

    • Maidana was bribed into wearing different gloves
    • Canelo was fought at 152 while still growing. 6 months after that fight he couldn't even make 154 anymore.
    • Marquez was made to fight at 146 from 135. That's an 8.148% increase on his original weight. To put things in perspective, that's like asking a fighter who's heaviest weight division has been 154 to fight at 166.5 (do the math yourself if you don't believe me).
    • Hatton was also dragged up, although not as far.
    • Mosley was a legitimate win but he was 38 at the time, not exactly prime.
    • De La Hoya was a good legitimate win, but Floyd was at the tail-end of his prime whereas Oscar was 4 years past his.
    • Ortiz was sucker punched and if Larry Merchant were 50 years younger he would have kicked his ass.
On top of this he avoided Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao, Martinez, and Lara.

Floyd will always be hated because that's the persona he wears. That persona combined with his skill made him the star he is today. If I was him I wouldn't give a **** what people think or how they feel.

Come on bro.. People be too picky when it comes to Floyd.. It's tainted because of the gloves he used? When you're the star you get to dictate terms like that.. Most fights anyone has would be tainted some how.. Some say Oscar wasn't a legit win because he was shot.. Along with anyone else 30+ years old...

Also the whole dragged up to a weight is a stupid thing to say imo too.. People say Hatton had to go from 140 to 147 but want Floyd to fight at 160.. If you want to fight the king, come to his castle.. He shouldn't have to drop weight to go fight someone who challenge him...

It's been proven why the fights you say he avoided didn't happen but people ignore it.. If he would have fought Margarito and won, it would be another 'tainted' win somehow.. Lara wasn't even on the list until this or maybe lat year.. He hasn't had a chance to fight him yet but he goes to instant avoiding...

Yes, and he might win, what's your point? And I'm not talking about him fighting all fighters in their primes, but if you're going to hang the wins he has over ODH and Mosley, you have to put it in context.

making fighters defend their titles at catchweight is a ***** move.

The titlest should fight at whatever weight he wants to within the weight limit. Just because you hold all the cards in terms of promoting the fight doesn't mean you have to stack the deck as much as you can. Going back to the fab 4, this is precisely what SRL did when he fought Duran the second time and when he fought Hagler. He lost a lost of respect for pulling this crap and it's nothing compared to what Mayweather does. I mean come on, dictating what gloves a fighter can wear, wtf is that about?

All I know is that DLH did the same thing to him and then some, and I heard no one bitching about it. Well I guess because if Floyd is the one being wronged then its okay.

If Floyd threw as many lowblows, headbutts, thigh shots, knees as Chino did in that fight, you guys would never let him live it down.

Floyd is a top 5 ATG at 130 lbs. He dominated Genaro, Manfredy, and Corrales, all three of whom were the top guys in the division.

He's made good fighters look like bums. Just look at the Marquez and Canelo fights.

  12. I don't understand fanboyism.

How can grown ass men get emotionally distraught over what other guys say over the Internet about a guy they don't even know.

How does boxing the sport of gladiators have such pu.ssy fans

    :rofl:rofl true but *****s are still here:deal

What would happen if Floyd got the spark knocked out of him?? how quiet would it get in here as far as *****s go??

Pac is still fighting, and still doing what he seems to love doing. Even after KO6 happened. Thats real character right there. Thats a man who got humbled in front of countless millions of fans and haters alike, and yet many choose to see the knockdown, and ignore the fact that he got himself back off the floor ,dusted himself off, and has kept on going

If we all just tried to find the good things that happen to fighters wed be better off. Negative things are easy pickings, but finding positive things to consider is a rare thing these days it seems:-(

I don't care if Jesus Christ himself did it, it doesn't make it right.

I thought boxing was a sport to see who the better fighter was and it was decided in the ring. Now if fighters are allowed to manipulate the weight limits, decide the ring sizes and type of gloves, insist of drug testing over and above the Commission rules, then what's the hell's the point of watching a fight where one fighters has already stacked the deck before the fights even started?

I don't usually care much about fouls, I figure that's the ref's job.
