Boxing_Master 95% of your posts are whining about Floyd and praising Manny, it's as clear as water from a river source what you are insinuating. Floyd controlled the distance first and foremost, Pacquiao is only effective at mid-range, I am a big manny fan and I knew if he had no answer for that he was never going to win, I just assumed Roach had a good plan, which he didn't. Lara ''ran'' against Alvarez, that is an example of doing very little to win rounds, Mayweather did plenty to win rounds.

That isn't the way it works.

Effective aggression is already a scoring criterium. No need to further weight its importance by taking points, when points are already added to one side over the other.

That'd be like taking an extra point away because a guy shows poor ring generalship. Or taking s point because a guy misses a lot of punches due to his opponent's defensive prowess.

Boxing is a yin/yang type thing. Most often 1 guy's actions elicit another guy's reactions. Without 1 there wouldn't be the other, and that is why rounds are awarded to one or the other.

You cannot assess penalties due to a preference in style.

Just for boxing_master, I scored Floyd vs Maidana 1, 115-113 either way aka a draw would've been fair since Maidana imo won a minimum of 4 of the first 6, Mayweather came on stronger in the second half, he couldn't run at all in that fight, aka, Maidana outpointed him in the first half, he outpointed Maidana in the 2nd half.

I didn't know running other, than during training was even in boxing. Folks mistaken good foot work as running because, only the boxers do it. Sluggers, brawlers, and KO artist rarely use their foot work effectively. I'm going to agree with what was stated by a previous poster. Trainers need to start teaching their fighters how to cut off the ring.

No. But what you could penalize are tactics that fighters use that enables them to run around the ring like clinching, pushing, elbows and keeping your arms extended.

It should be penalized exactly as much as an inability to cut the ring off :nod

Fighters do get penalize, after being warned several times for the same act.

Well...you know that Floyd represents the marathon runner in boxing sport, don't you?

That's why people keep talking about him on this issue.
