Don't laugh too hard. Sadly, his comment was completely off base.

    I'm off based? really?

I'd love to tell you what I do for a living because I actually know what I'm talking about when it refers to medical situations, but I don't want to come off condescending on a sports forum. I couldn't sound any more infantile if I resorted to stooping down to your level.

But to keep things in layman's terms, Manny Pacman had successful arthroscopic surgery on May 7th, 2015 on his rotator cuff. A rotator cuff is a set of 4 muscles that are comprised of the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis muscles. He had a "significant tear" reported by his orthopedic surgeon which is a vague definition since he made no mention if it was a single muscle affected or a couple of them and exactly what the level of tear was. His statement about significant tear was ambiugous at best.

You dont' know what an arthroscopic procedure is, huh? How about laparoscopic procedures? Well let me tell you what they are, from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, a laparoscopic procedure is when you make a few small incisions and bring in a camera (SCOPE) and other devices such as a cauterizer to aid in stopping bleeds, scalpels, and a suction device used to suction any excess fluid (i.e. blood.)

Manny received a procedure where they introduced a tiny CAMERA into the region of interest.

I don't know how you can say I'm off base. You have no idea what the hell the word arthroscopy even means. I mean you really are some kind of simpleton, the root of the word is embedded in ARTHROSCOPY.

I'm going to copy and paste my previous reply because I still don't think you read it. If you did, you would understand why I said your response was off base.

I'm quoting Dr. AlEttrache verbatim for you. So, these are his words not mine. From the sit-down interview:

"The rotator cuff is a combination of tendons from four muscles that give you stability and rotation of the shoulder. . . if that looks like to be a significant enough tear or defect or injury to the rotator cuff, then often times, that needs to be repaired.

    How many tendons were torn?

It was in the area of 1 to 1 1/2 of the four tendons that were torn.

    So, not completely severe?

No, it was a full-thickness tear of that portion of the rotator cuff. This was a full thickness tear, a significant tear, rather large in the rotator cuff.

    How severe?

The things that go into the severity, what's meaningful to us as surgeons are what is the condition of the tissue, can it be replaced to the area where it was torn from, what is the health of the muscle, what's the health of the bone...so those are the things to us that are meaningful as far as severity. You can have a very large tear, but if the quality of the tissue is good, if the health of the muscle is good, and if you can restore the anatomy, then the size of the tear is of secondary concern. In Manny's case, it was a sizable tear, his tissue was healthy, it could be replaced back to its normal anatomical position, and the type of repair that was able to be performed in his particular case was extremely strong.

. . .In other words, this renowned surgeon ranks severity off how much a person would be inhibited to making a full recovery.

Also, you can calm down. No name-calling is needed. I'm fine with having a debate, let's just keep it cordial and professional. :good

    1. You don't think I give honest opinions?
    2. How has Mayweather brainwashed me? Back up your claims, you still haven't quoted me where I condone domestic violence.
    3. How am I biased? Please, back this up as well.
    4. Exposed? No, you made a false claim and I asked you to back it up which you have yet to do. I'm waiting.
    5. Trolls are people who say things, whether they believe it or not, to incite a response from others. To generate an emotional response. Childish response? Like over half the **** you post?
    6. Hide what? Again, please specify. And not with some off the wall "Mayweather shrine & worship" garbage, because we all that nobody here has any shrines.

You want to discuss like adults, like discuss like adults. Otherwise, keep on trolling.
