:blood Man papo Cuba is the foundation of almost all of Latin music, It wasn't just Guaguanco. The more important rythm in Salsa is Tumbao and Son Montuno. I'm sure you know they are straight Cuban rythms.

Look I'm not going to argue who's music is better because I have Cheo Feliciano and some Fania all-stars live feat. Jorge Santana ( who's Mexican by the way ) on my turntables. But you can't dismiss the fact that Salsa is of Cuban origin. Just like Cuba is the influence of many Boleros Mejicanos and the whole Pachuco movement of the 50's.
