We have dedicated threads for the renaissance of Japanese professional boxing and of course the ESB Tambayan, Piniks Edition - official Pinoy boxing roundup - but not really a centralized place to discuss these regional belts contended most often (but not exclusively) in the Land of the Rising Sun & the Peal of the Orient.

    Members:
(15 national commissions and 3 regional commissions - Hong Kong, Guam and Hawaii).

Tomorrow will see Hiroaki Teshigawara defend his super bantamweight title against countryman Shohei Omori @ Korakuen Hall, but alas we aren't going to be able to watch it live:

    Other matches on the docket:

Jung Kyuong Lee will make his first defense of the 154lb title versus Akinori Watanabe on Sunday at home in S. Korea, and Jay-r Sarin Raquinel will make the second of his flyweight strap a fortnight from Friday, also at Korakuen.

In tomorrow's co-main event (which I'm not even sure will air on delay this weekend :ohno) Kenichi Horikawa makes a second defense of the Japanese national light flyweight title - which he, pretty remarkably, captured this February just a few weeks before his 39th birthday - against Ryuto Oho, fifteen years his junior.

This Teshigawara-Omori fight is a firecracker. Tough fight to call. Went with Omori on the thread but Teshigawara has been on a roll and could easily take it.

This was cancelled yesterday, when Oho was rushed to hospital, Horikawa will have a public spar with Kenshiro instead (http://www.asianboxing.info/asian-n...ght-title-fight-off-oho-unable-to-make-weight)

Also the OPBF run things in Vietnam and Taipei, holding essentially their own events there, which is sorta weird like the WBC and WBA shows

    Result:

    Teshigawara defended successfully via TKO12

(avoid today's date on BoxRec if you want to remain spoiler free until it airs this weekend)
