British middleweight prospect Craig McEwan spoke to Steve Bunce’s Boxing Hour about life in Freddie Roach’s gym.

McEwan has never fought in Britain, basing himself in the famous Hollywood Gym, where he insists reputations count for nothing.

The Scottish fighter improved his record to 14-0 (9 KOs) last Saturday by stopping Alexis Division on the undercard of Paul Williams’ fight with Winky Wright, who McEwan sparred with in the build up to the bout.

“I was training with Winky Wright, that was great experience,” McEwan said on Setanta Sports News.

“You can be Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao in this gym but everyone does the same thing.

“It’s one big happy family. You’re working hard and cracking jokes.”

McEwan is not sure what will be next for him, but says he hopes to fight on the biggest boxing bill of the year when his stablemate Pacquiao takes on Ricky Hatton and would jump at the opportunity to fight on home soil.

“They’re still trying to push for me to be on the Ricky Hatton bill but it might be difficult,” McEwan said.

“I’d definitely want to fight [in Britain], but I’ll just go on and see what happens.”

Exactly, would have been great to see Craig have some decent questions thrown at him!
Im eternally glad that Buncie got him on, but it was soooo short, almost left me in tears!
No doubt though that Craigs cameo appearance on Bunceys show will do him a lot of good though in the long term, so Im not complaining. Buncey did his bit, but I have kissed his ass in this thread enough already;)

One moan about his show though, calling John Simpson "past it"

How the **** did he work that one out?

Aprt from that though, enjoyed the build up to the scots-Irish clash, & while Im here, heres another moan.

Why the **** is everyone, Setanta included calling it Lyndsey-Appleby, isnt it supposed to be the other way round as the scottish guy is the champion here?
    Think about it:deal

Talk about crowning a guy a champion before hes even fought... I really hope this arrogance comes back to bite all who describe the matchup as such firmly on their fat asses. Really.

    Simple mate, pure politics.

Its a hayemaker show, they won the purse bids, lindsay is a hayemaker fighter, hayemaker has the setanta contract. They are always going to big up their own man. Lets hope Paul does the biz.

I'm hoping that we see scottish craig stephen do the mc again, he wasnt on the last hayemaker show.

    C'mon Chuckles Appleby :bbb:good

I agree Robster, & I said in an earlier thread I hope that chuckles dont get robbed if it goes the distance, but if Appleby fights to his potential, the irishman wont go the distance in this battle of the Celts.

I cant wait to come on here and gloat about Applebys win, Im just worried about the judges if chuckles cant finish his man early.

In the main, I reckon the British judges are OK although sometimes I've wondered if Dave Paris is watching the same fight that I am.

I'd love to see Victor Loughlin, Marcus McDonnel and Howard Foster. I reckon they all call what they see.
