I had it the same way ...and rd 1 could have easily gone to berto...he got knocked off balance with a good punch then finished huge....BERTO won...draw at very worst...the last 2 reds decided this fight
But doing enough to win and winning enough rounds to win are two entirely different things. I think you can score it close for him, but also the same the other way. This was the epitome of a close fight...sad some people are pulling the robbery card again (not you...people on this forum in general).
1. Collazo 2. Berto 3. Collazo 4. Collazo 5. Berto 6. Collazo 7. Berto 8. Berto 9. Collazo 10. Collazo 11. Berto 12. Berto 114-113 for Collazo. Having said that, I could see round 12 being a 10-8 for Berto because Collazo really had nothing left. Even with my scorecard I was predicting the 1 point win for Berto since he came in with the belt. Collazo's role now is basically as a super-gatekeeper for the welterweight division.
I usually don't score fights initially but that was initial reaction. Rounds 6-9 had a good deal of swing rounds. But i agree with your previous post, 114-113 either way was fair IMO. It was that close. :good
hard to believe how many people are giving the guy who lost the last 2 rds and was the challenger this fight...and with a bull**** point deduction...has that ever happened before in a fight of that pace to have a holding penalty in the 4th rd...has the refs ever seen ricky hatton or john ruiz fight
When the fight ended i thought Collazo won, but that was before i added up the scores on my scorecard.
That deduction was awful. I couldnt believe it. Worst thing about it, it came on a clinch where BOTH men were holding. Was the ref inexperienced at this level or??? Im gonna check on that...
Zab apparently is going back down to 140...where he is going to be an absolute BEAST for everyone outside of Bradley and Hatton.
Collazo Berto Collazo Berto Berto Berto Berto Berto Collazo Collazo Berto Berto I missed about 20 seconds of round 4. so that one could go to Collazo maybe but from what I saw it was a close round with the edge to Berto despite a bull**** deduction
doubtfull considering one judge scored it 116-111. He surely didn't score rounds 3, 9, or 10 for Berto. And I don't buy that the judge was corrupt. sometimes a point deduction can make people think a round is one-sided when it actually isn't just rewatched it in its entirety (I Tivo'd the fight) and its a close round. I give it to Collazo but it really is a close round
That judge is blind bro...trust me when I say...that 4th you missed part of was mostly Collazo. I scored the fight for Berto BTW...but not the 4th round.
115-112 Collazo. HBO anointed Berto as their next posterboy and the judges took that into consideration when filling out their cards.
