Very good question. Everytime it is close, people scream for robbery... I still have to see the fight (tonight) so...
Yeah, I'm sorry if I misinterpreted, let me clear up a little: ...my response was regarding Taylor-Wright. It seemed you said you had complained at the time about that fight, that there wasn't a clear winner. My reasoning was, if you were mad that there was no closure, but didn't offer an opinion on who you thought won, that would constitute "hating the game" as in dissatisfaction with the way fights are scored (in which case, I actually agree that an odd number of rounds would be far superior to an even number to increase the odds of a clear winner in close fights). I was mostly kidding around anyway. :good
I mean I disagree that a scorecard like that should exist but I said this in another post. The 3rd judge usually sees the fight way different from the other two. (The one sitting in the middle not facing a judge). Im willing to bet he was the one with the high scorecard. But anyway. I think Berto won Round 1,2 5-8, 11 and 12. Giving him a 115-112 card. I can see people giving Collazo round 1 for his little rally. Now some did think Berto deserved a 9-9 in round 4. And thats what Im guessing the 116-111 judge did. I think Berto clearly won 7 rounds if not 8. EDIT - Just think, a lot of guys see things in the middle, a close fight for either fighter and then some have all the close rounds to one fighter. Prob what that judge did.
now i got you ok i understand now. i was for winky as the winner of course. but yea i didnt explain at all just was mad over the draw. i can see the confusion there. sorry about that.
114-113 berto 10-9 collazo 10-9 berto 10-9 collazo 10-8 collazo 10-9 berto 10-9 berto 10-9 berto 10-9 berto 10-9 collazo 10-9 collazo 10-9 berto 10-9 berto just felt collazo went sloppy in middle rounds and got lazy and was throwing arm punches and not the quality he started with. i thought he fought well but lacks stamina. berto is a sitting duck though imo i hope he learns from this fight because lewis was right he makes funamental errors and in that ''shark infested'' welterweight division he won't get away with them. i tried not to score drawn rounds as i felt there was tight rounds but enough gap in them to score a winner.
watch the fight and i felt that berto did just enough to win a close one. he dug deep in the final round. maybe i didn't put to much premium on collazo's body work. i might watch it again and score it round by round.
