I'd say 1-1 after 2 rounds, Dirrell first, Froch second. Dirrell simply landed more in the 1st, but Froch even it out and looked dangerous in the second.

Painful to watch though, very boring start.

    Agreed.

IMO the first is a clear Dirrell round. It was his fight.

This is not a scoring criterion.

Ah... now I see how people score these rounds for Froch. Froch did not win the second round. He landed nothing. In fact, he almost looked foolish.

well from the first two vids Dirrell wins from rd 1 to 5
btw it's alot easier to score this in a better recording. This youtube video is harder to score than the fight on tv, especially because Dirrell has some quick punches that isn't framed good. Froch... well he really don't hit and throw enough the fight pace and initiative is controlled mostly by Dirrell

The problem he have in a forum like this is that everyone goes by their own criterias to score a fight.

    By order of importance :

1- Clean punches landed (jabs, straights, hooks, uppercuts)

2- Power shots landed (shaking your opponent)

3- Solid defence ( making your opponent's offence mostly ineffective)

4- Intelligent Pressure ( Cutting off the ring, taking your opponent out of his comfort zone & game plan + limiting damage received while maximizing damage given)

5- Ring Generalship (Controlling the desired tempo of the fight and positioning in the ring, distance, etc.)

Malignaggi gets hit a load more than those 3, he barley outlanded Diaz who scored the bigger shots.

I am not particularly a fan of either of these 2. But IMO Dirrell did a great job and won fairly wide IMO. When I heard SD coming, I figured there's always that ONE judge for the hometown dude, but got damn!

does bigger punches mean they count for more? they werent big enough to knock out the fighter..
